I had a 30 minute delay yesterday but I was in FC so thought maybe they'd give more, but just got the email and it's still 250.
Does 250 seem a bit meager to anyone else?
Appreciative of anything, of course.

Yeah, agree. For 30 minutes or less it's OK. For more than that, especially when it's Amtrak's fault (mechanical difficulties, etc.), it's feels like a nothing gesture.

My recent cancelled train, mid-way between LA and Kansas City, got a refund but no bonus points.

I traveled two days in a row this week in Acela BC. Sunday I did PHL-BAL and it was 23 minutes late. Monday I did BAL-NYP and it was 33 minutes late. For that first trip they gave me 250 points. For the second, they gave me 1000. As I posted above, a week or so ago I did NYP-BAL in FC, was 30 minutes late, and got 250. It almost feels arbitrary.

Yesterday I received 1000 points for a 35min delay on the Acela in BC between PHL-WAS.
Earlier in the week nothing for a 45 min delay on the Pennsylvanian between Lancaster and Philly.

NYP-WAS, last Sunday, delayed about 25 minutes, and got 250 points. Oddly the points were posted (emailed) about a half-hour after I completed the "survey" in which I specifically said that ontime performance remains a problem for Acela! Maybe I should have been more vociferous in my complaint in order to get 1000 points...

Would love it to be automatic. Was on a BOS-WAS Acela today and we had to swap trains with a NB Acela train that then went back south (while our old train went north). Never had that happen before and it was quite inconvenient having to pick up everything at a moment's notice and walk across the platform. Add to that the power outlet at my seat worked on the first train but not the second.

Basically the same. Delay was about an hour and change. Email came two days after.

That's fascinating. Presumably it was more helpful for the trains to switch directions, perhaps to alleviate a future possible delay.
Of course, agreed that it would have been nice if you didn't have to do it at all.
Out of curiosity, did you consider flying this segment? BOS-WAS seems long enough that a flight would make at least as much sense.

My Acela BOS-NYP was 20 minutes late yesterday. I received an email today letting me know that 250 points would be deposited into my account for the inconvenience.

1000 points for a 35 min delay on the Acela into Philly from Boston yesterday. We were delayed because an earlier Acela from BOS to WAS broke down south of Stamford CT.
