- If you product change your Amex, they will prorate the annual fee refund.
- If you cancel your account completely, you will be refunded the annual fee if within 30 days of the print date of the statement showing the fee. After that, there's no refund.

HUCA and did multiple online chats about once a week inquiring about cancelling. Every time they keep giving me a crappy offer of 20k for 3k spend retention offer... give me 30k and I'll stay. Even brought that up and they said that the current offer right now.
Vanilla Platinum (Personal). Had card since 2016 with at least 5k spend on it every year. Last retention offer accepted was 2019
07/08 was AF post date but the statement is due 07/03... Might have to suck it up and take the offer unless my Amex Everyday arrives in time. Signed up for it last Friday, says it shipped already but expected to arrive on 07/06... Hoping it arrives by Saturday so worse case I can cancel without losing any points.

Anyone had luck asking again?
Hubby spends $3-5k a month and has had the card for 7+ years. Called and was offered $175 or 20k points. Anyone had success calling again or going on chat and getting a better option?

Offers appear and disappear on the account at any time.
and sometime they only appear once you request cancellation- so the be aware of what you want as being willing to cancel could help you

I was offered to spend $4,000 in 3 months and earn 45,000 points OR $400 statement credit on the personal Platinum which I have had for 4 years. The annual fee with authorized users was coming up for renewal in August. I accepted the statement credit since the AF is so high now and points are no longer worth the same as before.

Hilton Surpass, 1 yr anniversary, minimal spending past bonus, offered 20k points for $3000 spend. Declined and closed the account.

I normally call every year after 13 months + 1 day from the last retention bonus. I've tried a few times now and no such luck this year on either my personal platinum ($70k last 12 months) or personal delta reserve card ($160k last 12 months). Does anyone know if the time window has changed?

I keep getting low offers on my Schwab Platinum. Not seeing any of those 50k offers we saw a while back. Going to close it once my monthly credits post.

My husband called about his AMEX Business Plat card today after the $575 annual fee hit. He declined the offer to downgrade the card to gold. He was then offered and accepted a $350 rebate.

I had just paid the AF since my statement was up on 07/03 and my AF posted on 06/08... I asked them if they could transfer the refund to my other Amex card and nope. I have to call back and request a refund via check...

I do have the Gold, can still get bonus for upgrading? I know SUBs are "once in a lifetime" but if your do a upgrade, it is not considered a SUB so would qualify?
