I don't quite get why this is suddenly a big problem for AMEX as a benefit, but not for any other priority pass sources?

Someone in upper management said we needed to cut cost somewhere.

Ummm... because Amex wants to save money and seems to be implementing several initiatives (this being just one) focused on doing thus. @:-)

Regards

Give it time. Bet they're all kicked out by end-of-year.

Not necessarily. I could see Chase and Citi restricting the number of restaurant credits per day/month/year instead of outright getting rid of it, especially since they don't really have non-PP lounges to fall back on.

That’s the big difference: Amex has the Centurions, Deltas, Escapes, and Aspires. I think Chase will keep the full PP deal.

Just passed Yankee Pier at SFO and the sign is posted that AMEX PP members can longer use the restaurant as a benefit.

One other PP lounge but you have to be flying international. So no options now at SFO if flying domestic

Go to the Centurion lounge at SFO. Problem solved.

It's been way too crowded the last few times I visited, so I don't consider it much of an option anymore, as it's not that different from just sitting at the terminal.

My Hilton Surpass card doesn’t come with Centurion lounge access. AMEX should include centurion lounge as part of the 10 visits I get a year.

The Hilton Surpass card only has a $95 annual fee so not surprising that you don't get Centurion Lounge access.

If you want Centurion Lounge access, get the one of the cards that offer it.

Nope. Not important enough. But I would like it to be part of the 10 lounges I get. Since restaurants were taken away.

There is the Air France lounge if you fly Jetblue.
