http://webflyer.com/programs/mileage...rter/index.php

According this tool the best way is:
Path #1 Miles/Points
American Express Membership Rewards (US) converts to (starting) 10,000
Continental OnePass (at a ratio of 1:1) converts to 10,000
Amtrak Guest Rewards (at a ratio of 1:1) converts to 10,000
Choice Hotels Choice Privileges (at a ratio of 5000:15000) converts to 30,000
American AAdvantage (at a ratio of 5:1) Total: 6,000

where restrictions are for Amtrak.

The other path, through Starwood, gives less:

American Express Membership Rewards (US) converts to (starting) 10,000
Starwood Preferred Guest (at a ratio of 999:333) converts to 3,330
American AAdvantage (at a ratio of 1:1) Total: 2,500

Using the bonus when converting a block of 20,000 points will give you 3,250 miles for each 10,000 points.

Unless you really want them, I wouldn't convert MR to AA miles. It just isn't an attractive proposition

However,, AA is a OneWorld airline & you can transfer to some other OneWorld partners if you are seeking an AA ticket.

Try searching FT for threads on MR to AA for more.
Look in the Sticky at the top of this forum and read about converting MR to Mexicana.

Also Starwood offers a 5,000-mile bonus when you transfer 20,000 Starpoints to miles

So it is possible, but still a very bad deal.

There is none.
Your best bet it to try trading AMEX points for DC points which can be converted to AA miles.

American Airlines does not participate in Membership Rewards. All airlines are listed here...

http://www.membershiprewards.com/cat...lFreqFlyerProg

You may be able to redeem for travel on American Airlines by transferring to Mexicana, but you should not transfer until you are certain that the AA flights you want are available through Mexicana's program.

But not on the Coupon Connection since the OP does not have the number of minimum posts.

Actually if you transfer in 20,000 point increments you get 25,000 AA miles for 20,000 SPG points. This is 1.25 for 1.
