Is there a way to know whether your company is using a business extra number on corporate booked itineraries?

Was pleasantly surprised today to be able to use a BE upgrade certificate on a N America to S America flight in November. The original fare did not qualify but the bump was only 60 USD.. I have tried to use BE certificates for domestic flights in the past and found them much more difficult to find availability.. A happy customer today.

Data point: my BX20UPG promotion was posted in May then had both UPGRADE and BX20UPG2 post yesterday.

Went back and checked. I also got the third 650 pt promo. Originally, when this came up a month or so ago, I entered both codes and one was listed as "DUPLICATE" with no points awarded.

Just saw that my 2nd bonus posted yesterday (20th Anniversary Upgrade). Earned the first one back in April. Did a flight at the end of last month after I re-registered so that likely triggered the second posting.

ditto...spring 2017 earned 650 B.E. anniv promo points, then 650 again in Sep and 650 posted Oct. Happy here

How long to get the certificates with expedited shipping?
Ordered the 650 points upgrade certificates this Monday morning - with ups next day air. Called and upgraded, need to present certificates at the airport. Our flight departs this Thursday - is it likely to receive the certificates before then? If they come later, can we use a scanned copy for our return flights on Monday the 30th?

I find their service is extremely fast. Even though I never request delivery by FedEx next day, when I've ordered Admirals Club passes, they've arrived either the next day (Texas to Canada) or the day after, always by FedEx. And at no additional charge. So you should have what you need either tomorrow or Wednesday.
|
Thank you I feel better!!

We are flying today and have not received the award certificates ordered on Monday by ups next day air. Does anyone know on which two days of the week they process awards?

Curious thing. Just received my monthly accounting email and it seems the 2nd 650 have vanished. I am traveling so cannot access the full statement of transactions on my iPhone to see what's happened. Anyone else finding their 2nd or 3rd bonuses vanishing?

I thought the same thing when I saw the email, but they were there when I just checked online. (On a side note, the website seems to be running very slow right now - took me 5 minutes to log in.)

Has anyone booked hotels through the BusinessExtra site via Rocketmiles? If so, any issues getting BE points to post correctly and timely? I'm doing a last minute Riviera Maya trip in 2 weeks and the 6 nights thru the BE Rocketmiles portal is the exact same price but will yield 2400 business extra points.
Going to book tomorrow so if anyone has any experiences I'd appreciate the thoughts. |

I've done 3-4 bookings through Rocketmiles and the BE points have always posted within a few days of checkout. I've actually been impressed at how efficiently they posted, all things considered.

Can you use a BXP1 to upgrade an economy award? Since those are either T (milesAAver) or Y (AAnytime) fare tickets, they don't fall under the fare exclusions.
I have a few certs I need to use before the end of the year and am trying to find a use for them on my remaining AA booking before giving them to friends/family. |

Does anyone know whether the gold status conferred through a BXP5 begins on the day the BE customer requests the award or the day AA processes the appointment? I have some points that expire at the end of the year and I'm wondering whether if I request the BXP5 on 12/31 whether the gold status will be good through Jan 2018 or 2019.
T&Cs say: "AAdvantage Gold appointments issued January 1st through June 30th of each year are valid through January 31st of the following year (i.e. Jan. 31, 2018). AAdvantage Gold appointments issued July 1st through December 31st of each year are valid through January 31st of the next calendar year (i.e. Jan. 31, 2019)." But, it's unclear to me me what the "appointment" date is, although I would assume it would be the date I request the Gold status (i.e., 12/31). |

I don't think it makes a difference in your case? By either definition, if you request the award at edge of this year and next year, the status will still be valid until Jan 31, 2019.

Hello,
I just logged into my Business Extra account and discovered I've got about 16,000 points. That's enough to take my wife and 2 kids to Hawaii next year if I can roll with the "Plan Ahead" option (3000 Points Per) As I'm pretty new to this... How do I search for flights that would fall under the "plan ahead" program vs the anytime? The point difference is enormous. Thanks! |

Thanks! on the calendar on the next page you'll see tabs for 2 shades of green, economy milesAAver or economy AAnytime you have to pick dates that the economy milesAAver is available. that's what used to be called "Plan Ahead" awards since there probably won't be any available on the first date you chose, click the blue button to "show full calendar" and play with the dates anything that works for you, put it on hold (no charge) and call business extraa to finish |
Excellent. Thanks!
Thank you!

Does the Business Extra flight have to be flown before the points are to expire?
(i.e. Can I use points expiring in December to book a flight next year?) |

Any Enrollment Bonuses?
Does anyone know if there are any active enrollment bonuses? And if so, how to claim them?
It is time for me to sign up . . . . |
Since Plan Ahead awards book into award inventory, are Exec Plats able to make free date changes to the award once the ticket has been issued?

Can I add my friends to Business Extra as "employees" or is that not allowed?

I don't see why they would waste time verifying something like this. Even if they were to how would they know someone wasn't doing consultancy work for you? Or a family member working part time?

They can save it in their AA.com profile so it automatically is added to their reservations. AA doesn't ask you to give them a "list" of employees. |
Has anyone had issues applying a BXP1 to a reservation ticketed through points like Citi ThankYou Points, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Amex MR, etc? In the past, I have had to pay a re-ticketing fee for a flight booked not through the AA website -- has that been an issue for applying a BXP1?
