I just found a couple flights didn't post that my wife (business owner) and son (employee) took that were paid for using Citi TYP points. They earned miles, but no Business Extra points. I tried submitting a credit request but it tells me "Ticket Number entered is not valid for Business Extra Credit" when I hit 'submit'. This was an AA flight (SFO-JFK) and was even upgraded using a BXP1. Do I have to call or are these types of tickets bought with 'points as cash' really not eligible for credit?
Also, my daughter and I were on the same flight, but ours were not paid with Citi TYP and they earned BE points just fine. |

It doesn't. It theoretically should be associated with the ticket by providing your associated AAdvantage # but often isn't.

I had a few of these booked through Concur. I assume you copy/pasted the 001XXXXXXXXXX number into the Ticket Number field? If so - the field limits the input length to the exact no. of integers in a ticket number (10) so your last three digits got cut off and that's why it wasn't a valid ticket number. Try pasting in the ticket number without the "001" prefix.

Is it possible to switch a 'Miles + Copay' upgrade to a BXP1 ?
Only thinking of the scenario right now where desired flight is C0, and already ticketed in S. Obviously can't even waitlist the BXP1 since I'm not booked in G (or higher), but, can waitlist as 'Miles + Copay'. If it clears at some point prior to departure, could I up-fare to G and switch to BXP1 ? I only ask because 75% of the time when my waitlisted BXP1 clears the agent assumes it's a miles and co-pay upgrade and proceeds to ask for my CC number, and in fact isn't even sure what a BXP1 is until about ~10 minutes later when I and a supervisor have explained it and that I don't need to pay a co-pay when using it. |
Booking
I’m new to this, don’t own a business but I was invited in. Most flights are booked though Amex travel. Can I call and somehow add my business extra info to these flights? Or are they not eligible?
thanks so much |

There's nothing theoretical about it. If the business extra number is not entered at booking or by AA, it won't post.

Would I be able to use a BXP1 to upgrade a segment and then credit that segment to BA?
|
I am not sure if someone has already reported this, but FYI….
I called meeting services a couple of weeks ago to request an upgrade certificate for a flight the same week. She asked me for my FedEx/UPS account number to expedited delivery. I told her that I didn’t have an account with either company. She put me on hold for about 5 minutes and then told me that it was done, and that no certificate was needed. She entered the information into my reservation. I was able to use Flagship check-in without a problem. |
