Odd. For some reason all of my recent flights are showing up on the Business Extraa site but showing "Ineligible for Base Points" and as such, zero points. All booked on AA.com - no discount code etc. Have way more than five travelers etc. Anyone have any ideas?

Before BE ends I took a quick look through my last year's flights - I found that a few didn't credit. They were all Chase Travel or Amex Travel booked reservations. Any reason that these wouldn't be eligible? Or just BE being BE and needing manual review?

i was under the impression that 3rd Party tickets would never apply.
I'll update in a week or two when they get back to me. |
BE has never been a well oiled machine for me, super clunky website. But i do have a finale i am trying to pull off. I have about 3,200 BE points accumulated, and a J flight JFK-LHR next month. No A availability yet but looks promising at F5. Assuming the EF fairy comes through i will clean out my BE account with a 3,100 point upgrade to F, draining my BE account and giving me a chance to checkout the Chelsea lounge. As it is a sleeping flight and AA J is fine for that I wouldn't do the miles/copay thing in this circumstance but I think it is a fine way to say sayonara to BE ;).

I've already booked a lot of flights for the new year. I'm assuming that I'll have to cancel/rebook using the new AAdvantage Business portal in order to get credit in the new program? I guess there's no way to add existing reservations to the new AAdvantage Business portal?

Looks as if they are accepting retro credit 10 days after the flight. You used to have to wait until last months flights had posted.
wondering what the phone cues are like these days…… |
Remarkably my BA flight posted 6 days after, making me again eligible for redemptions. Cleared out acct into AA miles, no awaiting the new program. At least easier to qualify with the Citi business card…

One additional annoyance -- the lowered domestic "C" availability that has been in place for about a year will limit the usability of the remaining BXP1s in my account (I have four left) -- I am really having to work around availability in order to redeem these certificates (already issued) before they turn into a pumpkin on December 15.

Can I use a systemwide upgrade on a main cabin ticket purchased with a Business Extraa award redemption?

has anyone gotten solid confirmation on BXP1 Upgrade certs expiration date?
I called meeting services myself and the person told me if we are holding BXP1 you can still request the upgrade until that expires. She told me its awards like a flights using points they cant book after December 15th. They should be able to process upgrades until the published expiration date as per the agent i got. Do you think that's reliable or was she just guessing based on the wording. My experience with AA in the past, is that they have zero hesitation to tell you what they think and have no way to guarantee. I emailed the day it was announced and got zero response, i think no wants to do a written documented answer to anything on business extra ending LOL |

since I doubt mine will post are you saying I should be able to call 10 days after and get them to credit even though I’m not sure they will or won’t?
wondering what the phone cues are like these days…… The system used to reject retro-claims until the period when the flights happened had posted. They seem to have lifted that restriction. |

However what she said does make sense and honestly is exactly how I was guessing it would go regarding existing BE upgrade certs after BE ends. Nothing more than a hunch, so take it for what it's worth. Based on how the agents process a BE upgrade it's not like there are going to be any IT changes that would prevent them from working past 12/15. And it's not as if they need to pull any instrument like a SWU or miles. The "instrument" has already been pulled months ago, they just attach the BE cert # to your PNR and move you up a cabin or two. That said, now the one thing that could happen is that AA just directs the Meeting Services group to do a full stop on processing any kind of BE award or upgrade after 12/15. |
So, looking at the FAQ today, it looks like all we will now get is a separate bank of AA RDM in the business account, plus the paltry LP bonus to the traveler discussed above. :td: Did I miss anything?

We don't have anything official other than what AA has posted on the FAQ's.
