I’m 50,000 short of 6 mm and also retired. After I retired, I lost my EXP status and only regained it when the loyalty points (cc spend) started. The most value I get from the status is the slightly better handling when flights go sideways when I am traveling. I do really appreciate it.

An "8 million miler" here and retired now. Been in the program since they started it so most of miles were BIS with AA and OW ticketed flights along with CC spend since my first AA/Citi card was issued in 1987. It would be nice to be EP again if all of that counts but my concern is that there will be a heck of lot more EPs competing for upgrades of the various types but the other benefits will be nice in any event. Fingers crossed.

For me as a current free agent, I shop price, lie flat, connections, and quality. I shop flights months in advance and avoid cookies when searching. For instance, I am searching for flights in and out of SCL for our 3rd Antarctica cruise more than 331 days out. For 8 people. I have CSR and AMEX plat. Doing some extreme in the future research, AA and OW are thousands of $ more than ST or *A. But... if being Emerald on OW enhances value, I might consider that. I could get PP under this scheme. March 1 will be the make-or-break point.

This is my first full year where I have earned AA status without the help of ISP. And I have learned a lot about the program. As I approach the 250k LP milestone, I am wondering why the next reward milestone is so far away, at 400k. Basically out of reach. For someone earning a lot of LPs through non-AA flying this basically means that I am getting off the treadmill until March now that have enough travel lined up to safely get to 250k by 2/28/25. Yes, I know upgrade priority is based on LPs in last 12 months, but that isn’t particularly motivating me to put spend on my AA cards or go out of my way to stay at AA hotels or buy stuff via the AA Portal when Rakuten has often higher rates.

But without anything to chase at 300k or 325k
- The AA Card is staying in the drawer instead of coming out for a final push
- I used Rakuten instead of blindly using AA Shopping for Black Friday purchases
- I'll be re qualifying for hotel status on Jan 1 instead of using those stays to push EXP
- My stock picking will remain abysmal because of the lack of education from Motley Fool
- I will not be signing up for and changing meal delivery services every 30 days
- My liver will be less taxes by highly questionable wine delivered to me
- I will probably have my ID stolen many times because I haven't signed up for all the VPN, monitoring and protection services.
So clearly AA is doing me a grave disservice without a need to push beyond 250k

Quick sanity check.
if 200,000 loyalty points post from cc spend:
> February 28, 2025 >> I will have executive platinum through February 28, 2026
> March 2, 2025 >> I will have executive platinum through February 28, 2027
Is this correct? Thanks!

I dont believe this is correct. As last year, the initial post will be 0LP until they can categorise the spending by date, and then youll get all 2/28/25 and before spend posting for the previous years LP totals, and the 3/1/2025 and beyond spend posting for the new LP year.

OK, thank you. But the main point is if the loyalty points post shortly after March 1, I can get two years of Executive Platinum. That is what I was trying to confirm. I think that is correct.
