Did you make him pay for the laptop? Did the airline compensate you? Just wondering.

Airline wouldn't have a duty to stop passenger X from putting a bag on top of passenger Y's laptop bag.

Passenger X may or may not be negligent in that circumstance, but good luck getting a lawyer to take that case.

I personally keep my laptop behind my back (between my back and the seatback) so that I can easily extract it as soon as we hit 10,000 feet. No one ever says anything. I am in the bulkhead crowd because I don't like being reclined into -- if anything I fear damage to my laptop from a ninja recliner in front of me.

It's summer time so the time of ATC holds. That 2 hour flight can become a 3.5 hour time on plane, including boarding. Very well worth the $68.

Domestic F gets you a bigger seat, unlimited drinks, and a few passes of the snack basket (there won't be a meal service for a late night flight).

This is false

How is it false? I confirmed with AA that they serve snacks. The booze will probably be once the flight is above 30,000 feet.

maybe she means drinks aren't unlimited if you appear too drunk.

You are correct, though I note my own negative experience one time when someone in a row 2 aisle seat got really annoyed and verbally belligerent when I, in 1F, stepped into the aisle to get my bag and get off ahead of him.

Personally I would pick 1A or 1F on this flight. I don’t usually need access to my laptop bag in flight.

I would have told I'm to wait his turn YMMV

I am interested in hearing impressions of the experience for a first timer. Approximately what day will your flight be? Hope to hear from you in this thread after your flight.
