Agreed. NRT is a hassle unless you are connecting.

I believe the belief is UA (who wants it for either GUM or IAH, with the latter more likely) will almost certainly get it.

That will do about as well as PHL-DOH will. No O&D and plenty of better and more convenient connecting points.

May as well do LIT-HND and get comedic value at least.

The LIT-TYO route was always predicated upon having two dedicated A380s available

PDX-HND on AA because spite. The addition of Alaska feed should make it a stronger contender than DL's go.

They started out as Northern Pacific but just recently lost a trademark suit to the railroad company NP thus the name change . And so far their ops have been comical at best so they are no 'threat' to the big guys right now.

Would love to see PDX-HND on aa. BA just started PDX LHR using the Alaska feed and that plane is generally packed.

For currently unserved 1-connection markets, MIA is really what we need. JL has been hinting at it too to facilitate Latin America connectivity. DFW and JFK both have 'some' flights to Latin America and the Caribbean but AA operates most of the spectrum from MIA only sadly.

ORD and JFK are already well served by JL, so don't see that plus AA already abandoned HND-JFK once. PHX would really only help with domestic connections but LAX also covers that pretty well currently, short of more domestic discontinuations from there. UA has a lot better Asia to Latin America connectivity by far than AA just because they have flights to both IAH and EWR and serve a huge portion of the region from both airports. That's really AA's weakness, despite having a better network to the region, it's all from MIA which isn't connected very well to Asia. It's a bit of a PITA to get down there now on OneWorld with the loss of LA.

United has put in for both GUM and IAH and it looks like they will get both. I've heard nothing to suggest AA will pursue this.

Isn't their LAS application still on file?

AA from SEA to HND would compliment JAL to NRT. Does AA have an aircraft that can fly nonstop from MIA to HND?
Hope SEA never becomes an AA hub. By far the worst domestic airport I've ever been in.
