Hold time record?

Curious what the record is amount of time AA puts you on hold. Currently at 90 minutes, and still waiting to book a reward trip on a partner airline.

I'm guessing 3 hours is the record.....

Probably way more than that when Dallas is getting some horrible weather.

Of course it's your choice to wait on hold instead of taking the callback for some reason.

I've been quoted 2 hours on the EXP line! I'm sure the record is much, much longer than 3 hours.

Have you tried to book the partner award trip via the in-app chat?

3 hours is a rookie time if we're talking about records. There have been people who've requested a call back (albeit during IRROPS) and it's taken 24 hours or more.

I was on hold for something like 9 hours last July 31 trying to use expiring SWU.

I've had 4+ hours before, during the '21/'22 holiday season meltdown, but I just used the callback feature.

I was on hold this morning and during that time, resolved what I needed via Twitter, which I was worried would have taken too long.

Ive had 4+ hours numerous times. Usually when they quote something that long, the callback is at least an hour longer than the stated time.

Not AA, but the day trump announced the Covid Travel Ban I was about to leave on a trip to Greece. I was on hold with Delta for over 9 hours, and then said .... it and took an Uber to LGA (even though I was not flying out of LGA it was just the closest airport) and their ticketing desk gave me a direct line for support that rang straight through.

I've been quoted callback times of at least three hours. However, late this morning I was stuck trying to apply a flight credit to a booking I was in the middle of online. I called and was put right through. In fact the last several times I have called I had minimal hold times. I was beginning to think the worst may be behind us. This afternoon and evening is a mess of thunderstorms on a line running from SAT through AUS and DFW, so not surprised hold times spiked.
