1) AA never boots confirmed pax out of F/J just to upgrade another pax that has higher status. If you've already cleared your upgrade then you're good.

At T-100 there were 5 open F seats. In app upgrades knocked those down to 2 presumably (aa rarely comp upgrades anyone at DFW until boarding IMO). Last year from DFW I was upgraded twice all year long at the 96 hour or whatever it is. That’s out of 75-80 flights.

"Never" is a strong word, and makes your statement incorrect. This HAS happened. I do agree that it is VERY unusual.
Sure, there may be extremely fringe cases involving irrops or late connections or rebookings where such a thing might happen, but in reality this is maybe .001% of the time and isn't even worth mentioning here given the context of what was being asked. |

AA will not take away someone's confirmed upgrade just because someone else with higher status books the same flight and gets on the upgrade list.

I was just trying to provide more accurate information, and I was sure to mention that such situations are very rare.

1/25 dfw -ege didn't clear 1/29 ege-dfw didn't clear Most of these seats are being sold in advance, as evidenced by the cabins often being zeroed out well before the upgrade windows even open. We're clearly still in a situation currently where premium demand exceeds supply. As someone who often books flights less than a week out, including leisure trips, it's actually quite annoying that I can't even buy a J seat on many of these routes. |
Kind of surprising they don't run a higher density premium config on those routes in that case.

What a pleasant surprise. Cleared AA 185 at T-72 as 900 LP PPro on a $80 BE ticket.
Can someone confirm if we get upgrades on B6 codeshares? (e.g. AA 9489) Will customers ticketed on a Basic Economy fare be eligible for any type of upgrade? No upgrades, regardless of elite status, are allowed when ticketed on a Basic Economy fare. Also, what does "clear at window" mean? When the window is opened to be graded, eg T-100 for ExPlat, T-72 for PlPro? |
