.....on a premium "Flagship" route.

MEX-DFW: No effort at PDB whatsoever (FA rude, grumpy, masked, served meals fully wrapped in cellophane and foil, claimed it was for COVID safety, did bare minimum in everything)

DFW-DEN: Open bar PDB with a smile (FA friendly, happy, unmasked, numerous snack basket passes)

Sadly, I can confirm that there was nothing FlAAgship about the service or the food on this route. The food quality really has taken a turn for the worse in the last few months and the Wine/Sparkling options are inedible. Despite B6's lack of lounge access, it is really pushing me to want to fly them instead. Frankly, I'd take AS where the food and service are usually great (even with their subpar hard product).

What?? On an International Flight - there must have been a problem.surely.

19th May AA 47 LHR - ORD. OJ, Water, or "Champagne" Excellent service by a delightful friendly crew
4th June AA 2995 BOS - ORD Full PDBs by an excellent FA Lead and the entire crew were delightful
8th June AA90 ORD - LHR OJ, Water, or "Champagne" - again a superb crew.

The Purser told me that they load 6 bottles of Champagne - 3 of the real and 3 of whatever they serve on the ground as we ran out.

I do wish that AA stocked decent gin as they used to and bring back a non-sickly sweet after dinner drink. Ah Well - one cannot have it all.

Didn't seem to be. Flight was ontime, catered. Flight attendants spent boarding time taking meal orders. I asked for a champagne on ground, was told yes, was delivered during in-flight beverage service with the FA saying "finally here is your champagne," so I think at least she wanted to do PDB.

DEN-DFW-MEX both flights open bar PDB. I’m getting a good hit rate recently.

I suspect that what has failed to happen was that the pre-flight Champagne had not been delivered - however the OJ and water had so what did they not serve that. No, something definitely was amiss. It is part of the service on International. They do have to serve drinks that are duty paid as they are not allowed to break the bar seals until they are airbourne

06/10--ORD to LAX on AA 2431--No PDB but the crew made up for it the rest of the way.
On their first pass through the cabin I was given a double Woodford with a sidecar to boot.
They proactively came through the cabin throughout the flight to offer refills.
What a difference an attentive flight crew can make!

Wait... don't you need Cointreau and cognac to make a sidecar?

AA 1162
PHL - BOS
6/12/22

OJ or water only

hbtr Jun 12, 2022 10:12 pm

6/10 LAX-BOS in F - no pdb, not even water/OJ. I thought I heard a champagne cork pop back in J.

SirToby Jun 13, 2022 8:22 am

5/27 AA 109 LHR - BOS B777: Full PDB (OJ, water, champagne), served in plastic cups
5/27 AA 4838 BOS - JFK E175: Very enthusiastic guy who jumped into preparing PDBs right after people sat down, sadly we had to deplane soon after due to JFK being closed for thunderstorms and delays were "indefinetly"
5/27 AA 842 BOS - JFK A321T: nothing, probably she did her "round" during first departure attempt (another of the heavily delayed flights) and didn't feel people would deserve more...
