This is not working for me. I am searching “Award & Upgrade” segment by segment, primarily for Asia-DFW flights. It’s generally “0” for most flights. But when I see “C” inventory it does not pop up on AA.com. When I search for other domestic flights the “Systemwide Upgrade” option is there so I know its not an issue with my account.

What am I missing?

Do you have eVIPs in your account and are searching for dates beyond the validity of your eVIPs?

yes as I mentioned the SWUs show up as available on domestic legs. So it’s not an issue with my account or validity of the SWUs.

Longhaul legs where C shows up on EF (searched as single segments) do not show as available on AA.com

Can you post the segments you’re searching? Interested to replicate.

I see “C” avail on PKX-DFW week of June 13th. Pretty much every day that week there is space according to EF. But nothing on AA.com. I tried searching PKW-DFW and PKX-NYC. On the DFW-LGA it shows that I can use a SWU to upgrade. Thank but no thanks. :p

I'm confused, too. I followed instructions in the thread to change point of sale and not allow interline connections, and I see almost universal C7 on all DFW-HNL flights. So I know that can't be right. It must be showing me paid inventory and not award space. Has it been fixed in the EF system yet to show award (SWU) space? It's the main reason I pay for the service, and I am SO grateful that EF has made the effort to work with AA to keep this visible to us. Just want to make sure I understand how to read it. I doubt AA is opening it up that widely as what I'm seeing for December.

You do those things to see the non-upgrade A/C inventory. To see the upgrade C/A inventory just do a straight Award & Upgrade search.

As for the PKX-DFW inventory, that seems to be an isolated case, we'll bring it to AA's attention to have them fix if it's incorrect.

Both reveal significant C7 inventory, which can't be right. Looking, for example, at SAN-HNL Dec 9...something's not right. C7on EF, but nothing showing on AA so perhaps I'm misunderstanding? But, Im following the FT instructions on this thread for the search for SWU space.

is it coming up when you are searching leg by leg? Connections aren’t producing accurate numbers.

SAN-PHX has C7 but PHX-HNL is C0. Again, you have to search segment by segment, which has always been the case.

That's not always been the case because AA had journey control and was preventing seats from being available on certain city pairs.

But, even searching PHX-HNL with point of sale switched to Australia on 12/9, Im still getting C7 so something is still not right.

UPDATE: Apparently the wiki is confusing. You have to search city by city as it says, but point of sale or connecting info does not seem to matter despite being a large part of the wiki instructions. It's very confusing, for sure.

Setting a POS other than USA or "Don't show interline" are the two options that we specifically pointed out that will show the non-upgrade inventory.

To avoid confusion, just use the Award & Upgrade search for all award and upgrade searches, that way you'll always do the search correctly.

AA.com is also not showing upgrade inventory correctly. I have searched the same flights on both AA and EF. EF showed C availability while AA’s website didn’t. Called in and an agent was able to see the space and confirm the upgrades.

yang1900 Nov 13, 2020 10:52 am

javabytes Wow, so I called the Executive Platinum desk and they said they did indeed see upgrade availability on this route for the dates that I was searching, which showed on EF.com. So you’re right in that AA.com may not be showing correctly. He also said this may not be showing up because PKX-DFW was still pending regulatory approval. Maybe this is the reason?

Glad they were able to see it.

As to your question, that’s unlikely. The routes I experienced this on are long-standing AA routes and not pending regulatory approval.
