Provided the availability on the BA and QF sites isn't phantom, you can still call AA reservations, give them the flight numbers, and ask them to book it for you.

The flight is not phantom. Technically, I have already asked them to book it for me. So what aids AA reservations with the flight numbers?

If they can't see it it means one of two things, either the availability is phantom, or they are looking properly. You can hang up and try again with another agent if you need.

How did you get it?
Already called twice.

I have seen multiple examples over the past couple of years of different availability across different programs.

Answer is no; by policy award seats of any given oneworld partner are supposed to be equally available to all other oneworld partners (differing booking windows, importantly, not included in this.)

Thanks Jon, but how does one approach the AAward agents in such a situation?

Well, that's definitely been an ongoing and epidemic issue, needless to say, with differing -possible- remedies in different cases, etc. But, at the end of the day, beyond HUCA and/or figuring out some of the specific technical issues unique to each case, no real leverage or "court of appeal" as it were.

Is it possible to transit via multiple third regions using AA miles as long as both third regions would have been allowed on their own? I searched, but I didn't find any answers.
For example: US Lower 48 - LHR - HKG - MLE on a single award?
I ask because I'm finding much better CX F availability on the LHR-HKG leg than anywhere else, and I would be more than happy to pass through Heathrow if it means that we can try out the product.
