Flying domestic leg of international itinerary without passport: possible?

I used AAdvantage miles to book a domestic only flight on QF. There is no international segment involved, yet the AA website shows "International Docs Incomplete". Is this just a programming oversight? Would QF even receive additional information at this point?

Already selected seats on QF, and all they required was DOB and sex.
