Not in my case. I qualified for 1MM a few months ago, so I’ll end the year with about 1,000,050 BIS. I’m guessing I’ll be at around 100,100 BIS by the time my 1K expires. So, the time would be ideal to split my flying, not worry about top tier on any airline, buy more discounted front cabin fares, and have a better array of options for when I buy Y.

You'll need to go to a kiosk/agent to check in your bags.

Based upon old posts I'm seeing on Boardingarea, it appears articles were first written on Nov 5, 2018 for 2020 status earned through 2019.

With that in mind, I guess we'll know in about 3 weeks what AA intends to do.
So given that we are now almost 2 weeks past Nov 5, do we think it's 'safe' to assume AA won't be changing it's approach to status requirements for 2020 to achieve 2021 status?

I wouldn’t bet the farm on it but I have no inside information, just the sour memories of past program “enhancement” announcements that arrive whenever.....
