Purchased Miles count on total?

I am thinking about purchasing 40,000 AAdvantage Miles. I was wanting to know will these purchased miles go towards my total miles? By buying these miles I will go over the million mile mark.

Second question, what benifits do you receive after surpassing a million miles?

I called Advantage once and they weren't sure. Probably a new person.

Thanks for any help.

No, unfortunately purchased miles are not Million Miler Miles.

Do all USA-LON BA flights (purchased at BA.com, flown BA metal) contribute towards one's AA MM balance (assuming of course one gives an AA FF#)? Do cheap BA fares nevertheless provide 100 percent of the miles flown towards one's AA MM status?

I think a better way to answer the question would be: No, unfortunately purchased miles NO LONGER count towards Million Miler Miles.

All flights in the BA network should count 100% toward EQM/RDM w/ EQP and bonus RDM being awarded based on class of service. There are few exceptions with flights to/from Cuba being the big one.

Question Are elite bonus miles counted for million mile status

Forgive me if this question has been already asked? I will soon fly between SFO and ORD on American every week. Since American has the double elite miles and double flight miles promotion. I'm wondering if the bonus elite miles are counted for million mile lifetime status? Thanks.

Only "Base" miles flown on AA, oneworld and specified AA partners will count for Million Miler miles, and this year, miles accumulated by spending with the City AAdvantage Executive MasterCard IF one signed up in time. See the first post for full details.

Now this will move to the existing, active thread where this is fairly well covered.

For future reference, if you have a question that you think may have been asked before, I strongly suggest checking out the FAQ at the top of the forum:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...ere-first.html

It's really quite helpful, with the answers to probably 95% of the basic questions I've had about AA (all neatly organized by category, no less).

This is incorrect. The question was about whether the bonus elite qualifying miles would count toward MM status. EQM have never counted for MM, so the bonus EQM would not have counted, even then. The double RDM would have counted back then, I believe.

Cheers.

I've done a couple searches and couldn't find the answer to this question. Do miles flown on Alaska and credited to your AAdvantage account accumulate towards MM status on AA? Or is AA like UA where only miles on UA metal count towards MM status?
