Mine says I'm in the top 16% of Platinums based on miles flown. I've got 50048 miles with one more flight booked...does that seem possible? I suppose it includes everyone who didn't requalify but even still, is it that rare to qualify based on mileage rather than segments?

LOL Yeah I just updated my post after realizing that the million miler for each flight for the year would be BIS, so did the search form Jan 1-Today and added them all up.

My email doesn't include the aggregate statistics per tier (Explat) that you guys are quoting, only personal. Oddly, it says that I am in the top 25% amongst Executive Platinum per miles flown. I am at about 103K EQM and 80K BIS.
If this statement is accurate it implies most Executive Platinum get there due to J/F/W flying, which may make sense. What do you guys think?

Not totally answering the question (about BIS) but I got "top 1%" of EXPs in miles and I have 223K EQM. I usually buy cheap tickets, with a few QR biz class deals mixed in, so my EQD isn't at a point where AA really loves me.

Some of these little tidbit facts could yield some valuable info as to AA's AAdvantage program.
My email says PPro members flew to the Sun 54 times in 2018. At 93,000,000 miles to the sun, that equates 5,022,000,000 miles flown. Plat Pros flew between 75,000 and 100,000 to earn that status. If we assume 85,000 miles per Platinum Pro, that would mean abut 59,000 Platinum Pros out there...

No % of EXP for me either: They must be factoring $ spent.
203 hours in the sky. (136K EQM - mostly BIS)
3.5 times flown around the world.
Top Destination - DCA - my home airport.
Boeing 737 - Type of aircraft most flown
Earned EXP June
103 times flown to the sun by all EXP members.
58K bonus miles from elite status.
15+ Upgrades received (not very good I guess - 68 segments flown up to now)
$250 Check-bag savings (don't check bags that often)

This year has been 100% AA metal. Probably another 15k BIS miles on award flights too.

Huh...if fanger flew 80K BIS and was in top 25% and you flew 120K BIS and were not the data here doesn't align with what they are sending in these emails, partner flights was the one variable that could have squared that circle but as you were all AA then something doesn't make sense. Which makes me doubt the accurate these % statistics all together.
