For 2019 the benefit is being eliminated entirely except for Aviator Silver cardholders who will 3000 elite qualifying dollars after $50,000 spend (instead of earning 6000).
Anyone who signed up for an Aviator Red Mastercard, or upgraded to an Aviator Silver, between January 1 and October 31, 2018 will keep the pre-existing elite qualifying dollars benefit for 2019, and their benefit will change January 1, 2020.

BUT DocD called on 23 Oct to upgrade the Red to Silver and Barclaycard would not do so “because of the upcoming program changes”.

"These changes are effective January 1, 2019, for Blue, Red, and Silver cardmembers who opened their accounts prior to January 1, 2018. Meanwhile they’re effective January 1, 2020, for cardmembers who opened their accounts between January 1, 2018 and October 31, 2018.“

There is no link because the communication is from the supplier to their marketing outlets who get paid for applications they generate. They have a commercial relationship

When will Barclay's and/or AA be sending out something to let cardholders know of the changes?
I find it odd that a blogger knows and reports this before there's an official statement.

Good news for folks with the Barclay’s AA business card, it seems to have survived this round of EQD benefit cuts and will continue to award 3K EQD for $25K spend!

However, it is my understanding that jonNYC works for AA or used to whereas bloggers typically tell you that a source has communicated and label things as a rumor. However, this is being labeled as official yet I can't find any official statement about this from the company. This is my big issue as I have noticed other travel companies as well tend to be sending out official communication via bloggers and never notifying customers directly about changes which I find as a disturbing trend because bloggers are not considered the press as far as I am aware and everything they provide according to their disclaimers is for entertainment purposes and of personal opinion. Therefore, consumers who do not read blogs are left holding the bag.

Well, this is just a fun week. First is the hit on Admirals club memberships which affects Citi card holders and now this rumor which affects Barclay card holders.
The hits just keep on coming.
