Why doesn't AA codeshare to Philippines?

AFAIK, Philippines is the only airline that has as bad a J hard product. They pack them in 2/2/2 on A330 with bunk bed seating. Considering J, imagine Y. Each alliance has the step-chuld so to speak. Philippines is the drunk uncle no one wants. At least from what ive read i dont see any of the alliances wanting them.
I am missing something in this thread too. If I fly to NRT and then connect on a JL flight to Manila, I do or do not get AA airmiles?

This may be a good time to resurrect this thread, given UA's recent SFO-MNL announcement.
