So 2 issues really. Can you get from T5 to T8 airside. I mean you can but will they let you with out a flight in T8? They did just begin the airside T5-T8 bus though. If you did make it to T8 would AA accept a B6 flight as onward OW..

You can clear security in T8 with a valid boarding pass that day from any terminal. You don't have to be flying out of T8.

I flew AA184 Flahship Business LAX-JFK on Friday. Delayed twice, surprise surprise! I left T8 about 1:00 am. Of course the Flagship Lounge was closed until 4:30 am. My next flight was from T7 later in the Morning. At 5:00 am I cleared security and went to the Flagship Lounge. No issues.

At LAX I usually clear security in T6 and walk to T5 or T4 airside.

I was shocked as well. It was also weird that it was not the normal group of AAngels. I have not seen any of the employees that were working before yesterday. Normally its the same group, but i guess thats their day off.

What are the freaking rules on little kids In FFD??? Im here and maybe a 3 year old is screaming every damn second. I like kids but this is ... ridiculous. Can’t they stick a thing in its mouth. I feel like I am in a Chile’s. One other person is on the phone loud and one other girl is obviously sick !

happiest_at_40000 Oct 18, 2021 4:05 pm

The showers and sink are the same!

Same nice lady was here and said they did call an engineer and he can’t make it any hotter. It’s standard policy for AA. But freaking JFK called an engineer and actually made it a little hotter

How os this temperature ok. The sink in the shower is a joke. Like after using the toilet some HOT water would be nice. And I want a hot shower ! Anyone who thinks this water is hot is insane!

Make it hotter and for those that don’t like it they don’t have to turn it all the way to the hot end.

FFD was a little better this time but nowhere near anything I’d ever ever go seek out. As far as food.

The 1942 was legit !!! Enjoyed the Old fashion also.

Hahaha I have nothing to add except I feel your pain. I laughed so hard at your comparison to Chile's. that's the best dining offered at my old home airport of YEG LOL I've skipped many airport lounge meals for that restaurant there :D. Pretty good food tbh... been years since I've eaten there. I assume it's the family restaurant type? It was a bar at the YEG airport.

i may have misread original post. I was thinking we were discussing @ JFK. Getting between AA @ T8 and B6 @ LAX. For LAX yes definitely all easy w tunnels, sky bridges and just the T6-T8 walk ways.

I was stating that at JFK, you can enter any terminal with a valid boarding pass for that day regardless of what airline or terminal you are flying from. I arrived in JFK T8 just before 1:00 am. The flagship lounge was closed. I left the terminal.

I had a boarding pass for an AS flight departing from Terminal 7 later in the morning.

The Flagship Lounge opened at 4:30 am. Once it was opened, I used my boarding pass for my T7 flight to clear security at T8 and went to the Flagship Lounge for breakfast.

According to the wiki, the answer should be a NO.
But I want to check again. Do I have any lounge access at JFK?

Routing: JFK-MIA in First on a 77E (night stopover) MIA-CDG on a 77E
Everything is on one ticket. In the online booking dialogue on AA.com the JFK-MIA flight is marked as "Flagship First". On the ticket the travel class is just described as First.

So officially by the rules no access at JFK since that is the day before your qualifying int'l flight.

However, I have found that most AA lounge agents are either just uninformed or do not enforce the same calendar day thing in these scenarios.

I have accessed AC's and FL's multiple times the day before my qualifying flight when on the same ticket. This includes at least 3 times at JFK flying JFK-LAX, overnight, then LAX-Asia.

When you enter the lounge, I always hand them both boarding passes and say something like "I'm on the way to Paris", usually they'll welcome you in.

Yes you would get in to FD since you would be allowed into FL and then subsequently you flew in F.. The issue is just MIA......At Lax/Jfk the on arrival has never once been an issue. Just MIA in the past. With far fewer 3 class Transcon they just seem clueless. And there is nowhere in writing anywhere on AA that says you get in on arrival which is frustrating.

Any recent experiences with getting into the FL upon arrival at MIA? Flying LAX-MIA (redeye) in J then connecting to MIA-MCO a few hours later. Would love to take a quick shower in MIA.

Was there last week on 2 passes and had no issues. Arriving on one of them. Most of my issues were during Covid and a few before. They seem on top of it and also there are so many employees there, at least when I was there, that you will find someone who knows whats up even if one person tells you otherwise.

You'll be fine.

As you probably know, I tried to access MIA FL lounge and FFD. I will be putting JFK to the test on 11/13, and MIA (just lounge not FFD) to the test on 11/14. Same invitation as last time, but I do not need to strategize getting in anymore. Will keep this thread posted on my experiences.

Same here and would love to know the answer. Arriving 11/14 from AA340 in Biz. 11:59pm departure, would also love a shower as it is quite a trip.

I'm probably missing it above. If I'm departing on a non-eligible flight and connecting to eligible flight do I get access?

I'm doing a same day turn and I'm OW Emerald through AS.
Saturday evening 7pm: MIA-LAX - Economy
Saturday night 11:45pm: LAX-MIA Flagship Business
Sunday morning MIA-BOS Economy

Can I access the MIA FL on economy departure and again on business arrival?? Technically I'm on same day Flagship departure just not departing MIA
