IMO, thats the best AA plane. 787's are just awesome and their 789 has my fav seat of the Big 3 (well i've not flown DL One Suites yet as had to cancelled 3 trips with them).. Watch out for Row 5, it is missing a window. Row 4 is my fav. Far from any noise and usually I find 1-3 head up & around to the lav while 5-7 head back, eliminating any pax foot traffic next to row 4.

I'm looking forward to it! I specifically chose that routing because the 789 seemed likely based what they normally fly. Currently row 2 (to hedge in case of a random 777 equipment swap), but was considering changing to row 4 if it wasn't looking likely.

I think you will be good and it stays a 789. You could do Row 3 and split the difference, to be in the best chance of being center cabin but were not talking about much of a difference here.

If it does switch to 772 then you really have to decide how you want to play the game. Row 1, 7 or 10 (bad locations) but no rocking or just take a rocking seat and go mid cabin. Dealing with this decision now for DFW-TLV

Yea, first class (or business) to Hawaii has never come with any lounge access, not even now with the new temporary relaxed rules where any international flight in business gets AC access.

This is regardless of whether AA calls it First or Business or Premium First Super Special Flagship 1000.

The "Flagship" business labeling that AA puts on certain flights at aa.com is meaningless and just another example of bad and confusing aa.com crap.

Just today I was looking at flights next week to Spain; MIA-MAD nonstop was labeled as "Flagship Business" while connections via DFW or JFK were not, and vice versa in some instances. Of course flying to MAD the amenities and lounge access would be exactly the same flying through MIA, DFW, or JFK, however for a novice looking at aa.com you certainly wouldn't think so.

It appears that as of Aug 1, AA is marketing their wide body flights from DFW and ORD to HNL as "Flagship Business" and explicitly listing Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge access in the benefits:

Very interesting indeed. If this sticks, and isn't just another aa.com/IT/marketing mixup, then it makes perfect sense with regards to the new "expanded" FL access in the fall AA hinted at.

Indeed and I think this should have been done quite sometime ago. Honestly, the wide body AA flights from DFW to HNL/OGG/KOA are often priced, higher than or at least equal to, international J flights to Europe and/or South America. It's crazy that they maintained standard, domestic lounge access rules for those flights.

Regards

Now, if they only opened up the HNL AC as well ;), then this could become a very interesting option. Presumably one could access the FL upon return to DFW if you had a connection as well, as you would connecting from an Int'l flight.

its not just ORD and DFW it appears to be everything excluding the west coast.

LOL. No they're not. Occasionally, if there's a crazy international Business Class sale, and you're comparing it to undiscounted J to/from Hawaii? Sure. Often? Not even close.

Besides PHX, what city in the AA network fits this description? Do we know if PHX is included in this? I know, when it comes to meals, PHX is lumped into the West Coast service (no hot meals), curious where it falls in this new lounge access policy.
