Haven't seen this question yet, and maybe it's obvious, but just checking...
BXP1 just says that you cannot upgrade classes N, O, Q ,S. It doesn't say anything about T (award ticket). Is this possible or no? Also, from what I've read about you can use BXP1 from the US to Canada, Bermuda, Mexico and the Caribbean. Terms seems to indicate that too but "domestic" in the name is pretty confusing. Anyone actually use one of these certificates on a flight out of the US? |

Since T is an economy award ticket, the answer is no. They will tell you "if you wanted business, then you should have made a business award ticket."
I don't see where it says that award tickets are excluded, and T is not in their list of exclusions. Nor is U for upgrade to F. |

Not quite sure I understand what you're saying. By that logic they would say the same on a revenue ticket and there would be no point to the upgrade certificate.

American Announces Loyalty Program Changes
http://www.flyertalk.com/articles/am...m-changes.html
Oh well. There goes AA's frequent flyer program down the drain. 4 SWUs for EXPs instead of 8. Most awards will cost more. Off-peak period for awards is cut back. Elite membership year is a month shorter. An EXP will earn less miles on a transatlantic discount economy ticket than a non-elite currently earns on the same ticket. On transatlantic routes, for a non-elite, the miles earned will be about 75% less than what they used to be. The only difference left between AA and the other crappy programs now is that AA's is not completely as terrible as all the others, only almost. Thanks American, I feel SOOOOO special now. |

Yes, any changes get dinged for the $150. (Don't believe points can be redeposited.) And no exceptions for ExecPlats. The only benefit is that the new booking must be made within a year of the date the original ticket was issued, which means this is one way of extending the life of expiring points.

Just noticed something in BE redemption options - they now have BXS awards for planahead and anytime on shuttle (DCA, BOS, LGA). Are these new?
I also see awards within other countries/regions (e.g., w/in UK, Spain, Europe, Africa). Not sure if those are new either. |

Looking at the award charts - https://businessextra.com/viewAwards.htm - I can't find anywhere whether those are for one-way or round-trip redemption. My guess would be one-way but can someone point me to a place where it is written? Thank you

Is there some way to look up the amount of expiring points in the BE account? Got an email (like in previous years) warning of expiration but this time it did not say how many points will expire.

PlanAhead Awards are valid for one-way or round-trip travel... In other words, a one-way redemption cost the same as a round trip. |

Go further in to the individual award codes to find the following language:

Click on account summary. Should be just above your account summary under the heading "Messages."

Just wondering, is it absolutely necessary to bring the paper upgrade certificates to the airport?
Can the agent just pull the certs from my account? I may have misplaced them |
