BXP1 validity for all segments of a "direct" flight?

Does anyone know how a segment is defined regarding a BE domestic upgrade award (BXP1: valid for one segment)? Specifically, I wanted to know whether a direct flight with a stop would require one or two certs.

I know that for a sticker/EXP upgrade, a direct flight is considered a single segment and the stickers are charged based upon the point-to-point distance, but I wanted to check if anyone knew if that held up for the BXP1 award.

If no one here knows, I will call BE and post the result.

What time frame are people seeing to see credit from "manual" requests? Is it really taking 10-12 weeks?

Just had flights from 6/23/10 and 6/29/10, requested on 8/23/10, post on 11/29/10 = 14 weeks after the request. :td:

Strange that my Base Point Adjustment was dated 11/29 also, but (I think) it covered a July flight submitted on 8/18 and two August flights submitted 9/25. Maybe, as I haven't received an email from BE telling which flights it covers. And it didn't add up correctly, as the July flight should have been 25 points and the two Aug flights should have been 383, while only 237 posted. None of the flights can be combined to come to that total. Plus, there should have been a bonus for the LHR flight. Oh well. We'll see.

Say that you had 4k, 8k or 10k points ... how are people redeeming? I haven't spent a ton of time analyzing best value redemptions, though some are clearly better than others (900 points for 2 hour conference room use at an AAdmirals Club, wow :o )

I redeemed 3000 points for a one-year renewal of my Admirals Club membership.

Anyone ever get BE to extend point expiration dates? I'm 107 points away from the 3000 mark and fly later this week, but the return isnt until early Jan.

Call their customer service. In my experience they have let me "claim" an award pending the posting of points.

There is a field for setup code, but it is not on first page. You need to go through the first page to see it.

How many points will the trip earn you?
In my experience, they don't seem to give you credit until the return.
I don't know for sure, but my last November RDU outbound doesn't show, and I thought it might be because the return was in December. Since Jan won't post until Feb, I doubt they will give you those points, but please call them and report back here. Luckily, I just had a bunch of missing points posts, so I am OK with the points that would have expired. Of course the expiration part of BE really sucks. I wouldn't mind if they expired a month after the previous posting, if no activity. However, with monthly activity, they should let them not expire.
So peeves:
1. 2nd prior year points expire even with activity
2. Points take too long to post
3. Points missing, even when BE number used in booking
4. Corrections take to long
5. Corrective updates don't have detail
6. Need to call Meeting Services to discuss booking (not always, YMMV), even though EXP desk gives better service
7. Awards are roundtrip
8. Awards have redeposit fees
9. Impossible to book awards online
10. Problems getting same availability as Mileagsaaver award bookable online), even though they book into same fare class.
The agent seem to say it was related to connection time, but this was to Mexico City, and I was going on the last nightly flight to DFW and the first flight to MEX in the AM.

That is not true. Posting of BusinessExtraa points do not depend on completion of round trip. As a matter of fact, I already have one outbound flight posted without having taken a return yet.

Given how unreliable the BusinessExtraa program is, your missing points are most likely due to some problems, rather than a policy. I suggest submitting a claim for those points (may as well do it now, since it takes so long for them to process the missing points).

I said in my experience it seemed like the return was needed.
This has happened to me twice this year, when the return was in a different month.
I neveer said it was policy that caused points to be missing.... they just happen to be missing quite a bit, even when flights are on the same PNR where points did not go missing. Whatever the problem, it has been like this for quite awhile.
Additionally when you have multiple flgihts missing, in the 3 months or so it takes to correct errors, there is no way to tell which ones are being credited when they finally give you the missing points. This seems a sorry way to run a program to attract small businesses.

Agreed, it takes entirely too much effort (mainly due to the time and lack of detailed reporting), to figure out what has and hasn't posted.

Did they give you half of the ticket value as credit?
