LOCATIONS, CLOSURES, CONSOLIDATIONS Etc.

All US Airways Clubs have been rebranded as Admirals Clubs.

Admirals Clubs are following US Airways Club tradition of serving soup.

AA- US "exchange" programs have been implemented at some Clubs so both AA and US Club users can be assisted by redeployed "AAngels" with computers (e.g. DFW Clubs now have US assistance counters and personnel).

ATL: Concourse T Admirals Club only staffed by AA personnel, no computer system installed to allow assisting US pax. (11/22/2014)

BUF: 2015, changed to November, BUF / Buffalo a Club to close.

DCA: US Airways Club in t-B rebadged as Admirals Club. Member dtremit says "To be clear, the small US club in the "B/C" pier (formerly a UA club) was closed and consolidated into the adjacent AC. The large US club on the "C" pier is still open."

DFW: Admirals Clubs now have "out stationed" US personnel for assistance.

GRU: Admirals Club closed for renovations beginning December 1, 2014 as construction of a new club in Terminal 3 begins. New AC is expected to open in 2015. AC Members may use the GRU Executive Club in T3 until the new AC opens.

LAX: US Airways Club closed. AS lounge in T6 (near US gates) now available for AC members, transcon premium cabin ticket holders on AA or US, and under oneworld access rules when flying US or AA.

PHL US Airways B/C Club rebadged, has AA Personnel available, at least weekday mornings until 10am (not sure about after this time frame). In A-East, Admirals Club opened, has US Personnel available.

RDU: US Airways Club closed.

SJU: The Admirals Club® lounge at San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin International (SJU) permanently closed 30 Dec 2015.

From what I read, Atlanta is currently closed and will be moved to the T terminal. Expected to come back later this year.

DFW had a RCC and a PC. I believe both closed and re-opened in a new location as a UC.
A bizzare one that probably doesn't quite fit the criteria but fun to point out is the Admirals Club at PHL. It used to be pre-security. Closed in 2011 and "merged" with the BA club and was essentially just a shared space. Then in March 2014 they opened as a stand-alone AC in terminal A East (nearly a year after they announced the US/AA merger, when there were already 3 US clubs at PHL)

Probably not, but it is interesting to see everyone's take on the clubs and getting a little bit of history.

Anyone know if the BUF AC is still open? Listed above indicates late Aug or early Sep closure.

Not sure, but I will let you know - we are heading there this coming weekend. (I believe it was planned to close last night, but, not 100% sure.)

I'm flying tomorrow morning so I'll pass it along. Will have 1.5 hours to kill so was hoping it's still open. It's sad, used to spend a lot of time there as a US CP, was a great staff and nice place to wait.

Thanks Brian!

At least a few more trips to enjoy.

Maybe there will be a last minute reprieve. (Not expecting, it, but we can have hope.)

How do we appeal for a stay of execution from the governor?

Well in speaking with the ladies in the AC today, they indicated a number of local businesses are petitioning AA to reconsider their decision. No way to know for sure but my take is its not dead yet.

Seems AA is pretty confident the BUF club will close...

For my flight tomorrow...

Clubs and lounges: Not available

(in BUF)

The ladies said Nov last week when I was there, so I hope it will be open tomorrow.

I will report back.

Just a notice for anyone subscribed to this thread that I have updated the Wiki to reflect the pending closure of the SJU Admirals Club.

SJU: The Admirals Club® lounge at San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin International (SJU) will permanently close toward the end of 2015.
Additional discussion available in the SJU AC thread (beginning at post #42).

Cheers,
LBBZman

Wow, that's terrible. SJU has been in the system for decades and has always been a great stopover.

Another #goingforgreat enhancement no doubt...

Hell, it was technically a hub as recently as a few years ago....

New York JFK:

B-10 Club is closed for refurbishment, possibly until 2017. (Flagship Lounge remains open.)

A small temporary Club "with limited seating and amenities" has been opened in the interim.

The Concourse C Club near C-42 is open.
