I hope now that AA is in control the flight crew will turn on the IFE on the A330's on domestic routes...

That's true. I keep forgetting AA has a lot of widebodies still without horizontal flat seats. For all the complaining I've done over the years about US, that A330 hard product has been great for a long time.

That may explain why I'm not seeing the 332 flying PHL-PHX at Christmas this year. By this time last year it was already in the schedule and I had bought my tickets.

Wasn't that a licensing issue, or was that proven to be BS?

It was, if you don't pay to use it, then you aren't licensed...

Traveling PHL to MCO and was shocked to see such a huge plane for a short flight. Our trip is in November and the first twenty or so economy seats were all preferred, so we got the best seats we could without having to pay extra. Wondering if they'll end up changing the plane last minute. :-/

Last winter there were some days that US had 3 or 4 A330's on PHL-MCO. It's a very heavily traveled route, even in early November when much of South Jersey travels to Disney during a 4 day long weekend.

Just for an added data point, 12/5 leg of PHL CLT is an A333 so they're definitely around.

There is no doubt they are around. There is a daily CLT-PHL A333. My point was that thus far it does not appear like there are nearly as many 330s schedule on these routes in the Jan-May time frame. Which makes sense if AA plans to start cycling these aircraft through pmAA hubs during the winter. I don't think we have seen a comprehensive W15 international schedule, only certain routes here and there.

Just enjoyed a 333 PHL-CLT on Tuesday (US 717).

Sadly there's no A330 flight between PHL-CLT next week (Oct 4-10), it does return the week after though. I was hoping to grab a flight on one next week as one of my last "US" flights...

I haven't been on a US A330, but I have had a few domestic flights on the transatlantic configured 757, and they don't turn on the IFE for these flights either. I don't understand why not.

That is odd - they are supposed to now copy pmAA's IFE. So it should be on...

I hadn't caught these previously so it looks like AA's load this weekend updated the Dec schedule. I have not checked whether these are simply for the holiday period or if they are for the winter season, and frankly I'm not sure how finalized AA's schedule is past Jan.

Operating on 12/17:
PHL-MIA: 763, 333
PHL-MCO: 332 (2), 333
PHL-CLT: 332, 333
PHL-PUJ: 333
PHL-SJU: 332
PHL-CUN: 332
CLT-MCO: 332
CLT-PUJ: 332

So far I do not see CLT-BOS or PHL-PHX that operated last year.
On a side note, an AA 738 is also operating CLT-SJU.

Since AA is referb thier 767-300s I wonder if these widebodies will stick to the schedule and not be sub for the 767s
