Is it better to status match to US or AA?

I'm coming from UA. current 1k. (also lifetime AA platinum if it matters). I'd like to status match - which program is better to status match to? Do you get SWU's if you do it?

I think you'll need to investigate the option via US.

AA doesn't offer status matches, only challenges and these are to achieve GLD & PLT. Executive Platinum challenges are exceptions - and I"m not sure they would offer one to someone who already has lifetime AA status.

You're not the first to consider this move, so we have a consolidated thread for this type of question. I'll merge yours in.

You might want to read over the UA status match thread. The only time systemwides were offered up front was a brief time in 2012.
AA offers UA elite status matches / challenges (consolidated)

I pulled the trigger--I am on my last UA flight today--over 1K miles this year, 130 segments. Start with AA on Jan 1st. Looking forward to it--have a status match and have just bought 10 tickets through mid March--won't have a problem getting there.

Only problem I have now--500K UA miles, ecerts and all of these RDU and GDU's!

So they give you the status right away, then you fly 25k in 90 days.
Which did they give you EXP or Plat?
How long is the status good for after you fly the 25K?

I am thinking of doing this next June...

EXP status up front? MILES, not points? Haven't seen too many FTers post about a challenge where it's strictly miles and not points the last three years, so if they're offering miles now that may signal they're after even a bigger group of UA flyers that would come over. There was a time in 2012 they did offer EXP status up front.

Is there something unique about your flying? Did you hold UGS status at UA?

This is incorrect. Gold gets 25% bonus. Plat and EXP gets 100% bonus. Exactly the same as PMUA.
