Just before boarding the 0750 SMF-DFW yesterday morning, received text and voice mail that my connecting DFW-BOS was cancelled. Quick check showed all later DFW-BOS and LAX-BOS also cancelled. At that time of the day I didn't think the weather looked too bad and risked continuing the journey. Finished the reroute call while in 6F. Wrong call.

AA rerouted me on US DFW-PHL-BOS but didn't quite make it to Boston. The PHL-BOS segment, which would have been operated by the same aircraft, and with at least different flight attendants, cancelled while I was in the air to PHL. If I didn't have the 80 min northeast ATC hold at DFW maybe I would have stood a chance. Hard to say. On arrival went into a US lounge and had them rebook for Sunday.

Did run into a problem having the AC print US boarding passes for the reroute. They kept getting error messages that it was too late to check in. US gate agent had no problem printing them.

All the airport hotels I checked were full so headed into the city for a night and have a Marriott here. Hopefully off to BOS this afternoon (all morning flights booked by the time I landed) as the plan is to spend the weekend there.

Any one have details on AA 250 tonight from GIG to DFW? Was delayed initially for crew rest, now saying further delayed awaiting equipment. AA cannot tell me where the plane is coming from though. Now scheduled to leave at 230a. Any ideas?

The plane is on its way from DFW as AA 251. FlightAware shows its current location.

Question AA delays at SAN 2/20?

Anyone know what caused the two delays yesterday to AA1086 and, subsequently, AA58 SAN-DFW? 1086 finally flew TEN hours late, and 58 departed over an hour behind schedule.

Both would have led to missed GRU-onwards connection (so thankfully was able to remain in SAN), and Plat phone op stated that there were no weather delays at the time.

I don't necessarily see anything in 1086 notes, but I can't read these for crap.

AA236 SEA-JFK Diverted to PIT

Wife is on the plane stuck in PIT currently. Guess they were told they couldn't land in JFK due to weather and needed to refuel. PIT wasn't prepared for them so no gate. Hopefully they are able to get this bird back in the air and don't have to cancel due to crew flight times.

I'm on AA 24 SFO to JFK which was diverted to BWI. We didn't get a gate either, the fuel truck came to us and after about an hour on the ground we are about to take off.

That's the one- wonder how it gives no reason for leaving almost ten hours late (it's an 11:30 flight). Guess that explains why Plat had no idea either....

So you could say they made a PIT stop? Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Lol, nice. Seems like they waited on the ground in PIT for 2 hrs then were supposed to be under way.

AA107 on 25th Feb cancelled

Annoyed that my flight tomorrow has been cancelled as I was looking forward to my second business class flight on a new 777-300ER.

I am now re-booked with BA.

This concern is specifically about flying American Airlines F or J. As American Airlinesis still operating as a distinct programme, this question is being moved over to the pre-merger AA forum.

Please note the sticky at the top of the consolidated thread which is titled Welcome to the New American Airlines Forum! PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING. With all of the changes about, it is important to know where to post, and reading that thread before posting (as the title suggests ) will help get you in the right place.

We'll also merge your post into the proper, existing thread.

AA 1526 MEXDFW on 2/23. Got out to the runway and began our takeoff roll, heard a "THUD THUD" and what kind of felt like your car struggling to switch gears (adding power but a delay in moving forward). We glided down the runway and went back to the gate.

Stayed on the plane for an hour while MX took a look, then got off with a three hour delay posted. Flight was cancelled shortly thereafter.
