Any recent data on award availability?

I am seeing plenty of availability through the Alaska website in Business LAX-NAN-AKL. Nothing on aa.com. Does calling the
Australia number still work?

Plenty? When? 99% of the awards you see on AS are mixed cabin. Y LAX-NAN & J NAN-AKL/SYD/BNE..., usually on a narrow-body in a recliner.

Thanks for pointing that out. I missed that. So the long haul J from SFO and LAX is pretty much non-existent?

Completely non-existent for many months LAX-NAN. I want that route based on the metal they use for that one. So I have been looking every day for months.

Have you seen availability on SFO-NAN then?

Just as travel was starting again in December last year there was pretty much wide open availability on biz class on the NAN-SFO leg… but that’s operated by an A330 with angled recliners :( LAX-SFO with flat beds was not available.

I think most of the awards have now been taken for the rest of the year.

Taking forever to ticket

Is it normal for FJ award tickets on AA to take way longer than usual to ticket? I am at 1 week and waiting. Have called twice and told both times it is in the que and not to worry. Something isnt right. They said b/c its not until June it isnt a priority but I have other partner airline tickets booked in June that were ticketed same day or next day.

My experience dealing with the AA office that the Australia number routes to, is that if it is not ticketed within 72 hours that the agent will contact ticketing to check what the problem is and get it fixed and issued

If not issued after a week, I would suspect that there is a problem

Yes I think it is lazy agent and that there is an issue but 2 diff agents have told me nothing they can do. One went to supervisor upon my request and came back and said all is good just have to wait b/c its so far out in June that its not a priority. I have never waited this long for a ticket so something is wrong.

When you say the Australian number are you saying there is a different number I can call down under? I am just using the normal 800 88 8880 number.

How far out does Fiji & AA release Business availability? Looking for a September 2023 honeymoon and there's plenty of Economy, not finding any Business award seats.

Edit: looking on the LAX-NAN route.

It can be as early as 330 days out that awards are available, at least the several times that I have done the LAX to PPT route. If the business award availability pops up, you have to grab it right away or it can disappear. Still, I would keep checking daily, and more than once a day, because award space sometimes pops up.

And from 353 days out with some other ffp's like QF

Wondering what's going on with Fiji Airways and AA Awards...

I see multiple days very near the end of the schedule that show availability, per ExpertFlyer:

https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...be60863b0d.png

But, AA doesn't seem to show this availability when searching the itinerary overall or individually by segment.

Does anyone know what's going on here? Could AA ticket these via a phone call and it's just something screwy with the website?

There have been some aa.com issues lately with regards to partner award space, if you're seeing space at EF but not aa.com then no reason not to try calling AA to see if a phone agent can book it.
