They have plenty of limes for the cocktails, and that is pretty much all I need.

The rest of the catering is optional, IMO. Rewind to before 2002 on a typical midcon; the meals were served on china, salad course before the entree, slightly larger portions, and sundae cart-- but it was still airplane food. I only really miss the sundae cart. You can try and put lipstick on a pig if it makes you feel any better, but I'll prefer to grab something before or after my flight.

I think you are one of the very few people anywhere who would willingly pay one to two hundred dollars for airline food, even good airline food. I have a feeling that that price point is not going to catch on

Cheers.

Good god!! For two hundred bucks per person, one can get a really nice meal with great wine on the ground. And there is no risk of an overcooking error rendering the entree inedible.

Perhaps, but they might also respond by making even more cuts who knows.

Since food, and food quality is more important to some flyers than others, perhaps AA could implement a process where you could reserve a variety of luxury amenity packages prior to your flight for a cost.

It's hard to decide which is more ridiculous, the title or the thread itself.

Just when you start to get discouraged by the misinformation and idiocy on FT, someone pipes in with a spot-on, dead accurate answer.

And AA realizes that and therefore has no real incentive to bring fine cuisine into the F domestic cabin.
I do it for the booze and the cookies. But mostly for the booze....

I certainly hope the FA's I have seen recently wouldn't be a part of that show. They would need to pay me to be present

I'm sure it would be the thrill of their lives for the FA's [sic] to see you do a striptease at the front of the plane.

Coincidence that this tread and this article (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/11/bu...rssnyt&emc=rss) came out on the same day?!?!

But like another poster said... it doesn't matter how much of it there is... Airplane food will always and forever be airplane food.
