I received an email for my flight yesterday about 5h before departure. Yet I had been upgraded 3 days earlier. <i>Fun</i> to receive the email, but it does not help with selecting your seat as soon as you are upgraded...

Ditto for me w/1; never rec'd anything for the other 2 that actually cleared last week, though one was less than an hour before departure & due to a change in aircraft which opened up most seats.

I have stopped waiting for the emails, since they are no longer reliable or timely. If I'm concerned about the position of my upgraded seat, ordering meals, etc. I simply check my reservation at specific points until I see it's upgraded:
- Just after the start of the upgrade window (T-100 hours for me)
- Around 6 am central each day prior to departure, including day of departure
- Around 3 hours before departure
Since at least the first of this year, upgrades happening outside of those times are extremely rare in my experience.

Just rec'd upgrade notification email for an upgrade (along w/ companion upgrade) for a flight this Wednesday.. 100 hour mark.
