Plat Re-qualifying question

Hi,

I'm currently AA Plat trying to re-qualify for next year.

I have a flight booked with RJ on 31st Dec for LHR-AMM-BKK-HKG which will take me over the edge once I land in HKG.

However the LHR-AMM and AMM-BKK-HKG llegs have 2 different flight numbers and I depart AMM at 1am Jan 1st.

Can anyone tell me if AA will reset my EQM between my flights? Technically it will still be 31st Dec in the US however I have feeling my credit from RJ will say 1st Jan and will therefore not count.

As I say this is one ticket but 2 different flight numbers.

Thanks

Unfortunately, the qualification goes by the scheduled departure date, in the departure time zone, so your January 1, 2012 AMM-BKK-HKG flights will count toward your qualification for next year (2012), and not this year (2011).

Wow... That's a tough break... Missing requalification by 60 minutes! Hopefully the OP can find another way to requalification.

Not a tough break. Just bad planning.

If IRROPS delays a scheduled December 31st 22:00 departure until 01:00 on January 1st, which date applies?

It looks like about this time every year, this type of query starts to pop up, so we've created a consolidated thread that hopefully others will be able to find in the future. Not surprisingly, the answer doesn't change from year to year.

I've also added a "mod note" to the first post. If anybody else has a suggested question/answer, please let me know. Thanks! /Moderator
