And mushrooms
Take heart - there was nary a shroom in evidence with the turkey sandwich outbound nor pesto penne inbound on my recent flights!

I complimented the FC FA for wearing a white shirt rather than the anything-but-easy-on-the-eyes new striped numbers. He thanked me and said said the other guys don't much like them either, but there's a new solid tie that might make for less of a clash.

Report on Smashburger at EWR:

fast fairly cheerful service

burger itself (100% Certified Angus Beef) was fine,
almost indistinguishable from 5 Guys', perhaps a
little less greasy

toppings exemplary

egg bun squishy but all right (several other choices
of bread, including onion roll, which I'll try next time)

Smash Sauce appeared to be mostly mayo and
mustard, but it got squashed in with the onions
so I can't be sure.

Didn't try fries or anything else.

$5.34.

JEALOUS. Won't be within reach of an In-N-Out until next weekend. Enjoy while you're there!

I'm thinkin' El Tarasco instead. Or maybe a random street taco.

Gotta give ya something to look forward to on your next trip...

Gosh, ya'll are making me hungry and I won't be there for over a week still! Not nice Would someone kindly provide directions to the famed burger joint somewhere between my two airports?

Where did you two end up? I heard missed you guys by a day, taking that same ANC-PDX flight the next day. If I had known about the cast of characters on your flight, I would have booked my work trip to Hawaii a day earlier.

I've read reviews recently that put smashbuger above 5 guys (primarily for taste of the buger meat itself). So it's interesting to read your review. Sounds like its not that bad for an airport burger joint.

Now I'm considering a MR just to try out In-N-Out burgers to see if they're the tops of burger options

All other burger options absolutely pale against Lunchbox Laboratory.

I can never eat a burger anywhere else ever again.

Thanks, Missy, for forever ruining me for burgers.
