Feb 21 flight 221 JFK-SEA upgraded just after check in and I was 2/33 with 2 seats open
March 4th flight 4 SEA-DCA upgraded at T-22 and I was 2/29 with 3 seats open.
I had a couple of flights before that as a 100K but those I would have been upgraded as a 75K. These two flights are where 100K paid off.
Never had any recognition as 100K but so far 100% upgrade, so I am not complaining.

A flights online check-in window opened up, but hours later the waitlist hadnt started getting filled nor could you even access it in the app. Is Alaska doing it manually and someone called out sick?

Didn't realize there were two threads for this now. How stupid. Nevermind.

Route: HNL-SFO
Fare class: T
Flight number: 708
Aircraft: Boeing 737-9 MAX (ETOPS)
Status: MVPG100K
Companion: MVPG75K
Time the upgrades cleared: T-22
We were #1 and #2 on the upgrade waitlist listing 7 passengers. For two hours after online checkin had opened, there was a total of 6 open seats in First Class; 2 of them were adjacent. The top 6 names then disappeared from the waitlist, filling the open seats in F.
Watching the waitlist populate was captivating. No other 100K because I had the lowest priority with fare class T, award travel. One other 75K before T-72, #3 on the waitlist. No one else before T-48, so no Gold. Then another four, MVPs.
We did not get seated in adjacent seats, but instead in two window seats across from each other. At the gate, an agent kindly offered to reach out to the passengers seated next to us to see if one would be willing to swap, and one did. It was a good day.
@Seat 2A, I’m sorry to say I had to surrender your seat to sit with my wife. She was put in 2F, and it was a fifty-fifty chance of left or right of the aisle.

3/7/22 PDX-SFO AS273 A320 T Fare (Purchased 1/31/22) MVPG100K - Ended up at number 1 of 11 on the waitlist (MVP companion was 11 of 11 - reservation split at T-120)
3/8/22 SFO-PDX AS207 A320 T Fare (Purchased 1/31/22) MVPG100K - Ended up at number 3 of 8 on the waitlist (MVP companion was 6 of 8 - reservation split at T-120)
These were my first missed upgrades since December 2020 when seat blocking was in effect and a flight went out with 8/16 in F. All flights to/from the bay area and PDX have been nearly sold out or sold out for a week, so I was not caught by surprise.

In this case it was easy because there was upgrade space available well past the upgrade window for 75K or even gold. In one case all the way till check in and I ended up with an empty seat next to me in F which hadn't happened since 2020. So certainly I did not need 100K status to be upgraded. I've been on other flights where I was 1 or 2 on the list for only a couple of seats so I can assume 100K paid off then.

OGG-SFO - AS 710
Received Upgrade
Fare Class - G
Purchased 22 hours before departure.
At T-22, I checked first class seats for availability & there were 4 seats remaining with a waitlist of 12 passengers. I then purchased main cabin and was moved immediately to 1 of 13 on the waitlist. I assume I was the only 100K currently on that list. At T-21, received an first class upgrade email. I checked seats and waitlist again and first four on waitlist were moved to first class.

Mar 6th, 2022 Sunday
LAX-RNO AS3493 E75L Cleared at T-18
Mar 8th, 2022 Tuesday
LAX-EWR AS219 B739 Cleared at T-114
Mar 9th, 2022 Wednesday
EWR-LAX AS24 B739 Cleared at T-20. 1 seat left at T-24 and I was the only one who got the UG. That's when 100k made a difference on this not-so-elite-heavy route.
100K. All G class.
This is my last MR (for now). 91K EQM within 2 months is just crazy, out of 50 AS flights equipped with First Class, I got UG on 48 of them. It feels so weird doing the last MR, as if I'm graduating from college. Not sure when but with organic flying from now on, I should qualify for 100K pretty soon..

Tuesday March 8 AS 12 BOS-SEA B739 G fare - did not clear
Checked the upgrade list yesterday and I was #4. Checked this morning and I was #1
On the bright side, at least the middle seat beside me is empty, and I can get my consolation prize chocolate lol

What is the lowest you've been on the upgrade list since making 100k? Or in other words, how many 100k's are on most flights?
Going to Maui tomorrow and am #6 (purchased December 2021, class S). I called the Gold line (too much time on my hands) and she said that anyone who buys an upgradeable ticket will be above a 100k on the waitlist. I didn't think this was correct, so she transferred me to customer care who confirmed her statement. Say it ain't so!
