The chicken breast was dry, as expected, but still tasty. The saffron rice and lemon meringue were very good. Still better than what most other airlines are serving these days. No cookies were offered on the flight.

I thought the cod was...fine? To me it seemed mildly flavored and the cod was cooked well and not dry. Overall, it tasted like a lighter/healthier meal. Also, mine definitely looked less black than the one in gold10829's post. Our F/A also wrote different quotes for each of our meals which I thought was interesting.

No plated dessert meant the cookies came out, which ended up being southern toffee with nuts (maybe pecans?), and as expected, delicious.

It was pretty decent tho unremarkable and came with a lemon meringue tart. Service was very good and professional with a pass of the snack basket around an hour out of DCA.

This was my first transcon since COVID, but things mostly seemed normal except the coffee was in paper cups. My wife and I pre-ordered the kale bowl, which we both thought was pretty tasty. My neighbor had the onion frittata, I passed on that as I hate onions but it also looked pretty good. My son pre-ordered the fruit and cheese plate, which came with yogurt. There was one pass of the snack basket about an hour before landing; I selected the pea-toes based on reviews here and was not let down. We landed around an hour early due to favorable winds, all in all a very smooth flight although JFK Terminal 1 is pretty sad these days.

I was hesitant but tried the Bahn-mi. It was OK. The pickled slaw and Sriracha really made the sandwich. The bread was a bit too thick and some small bits were very soggy. Also, the banhmi had this sauce (Sriracha mayo???) that didn't really belong in a banhmi, imo. Overall though, it was fine. I woke up hungover that day so the carby bread was really appreciated. 😂

This was MUCH tastier than it looked - I really enjoyed it! Excellent service from the flight attendant in First, who gave me a warm welcome as a oneworld frequent flyer.

LAX-CUN
Lunch:
Entrée Salad with egg. (Other option was Beef Sandwich)
This was ok - the cauliflower was marinated in curry, which overwhelmed the flavor of the dish.

Both meals were delicious. The breakfast was very filling, as was the dinner. I know it has been mentioned before, but I can't get over the fact that it's a real filet! I would pay $35 in a restaurant and be happy. It's also great to see that even the disposable napkins retain the button hole.

Unfortunately they only boarded beef salad and chicken sandwich, so wife got… just a cookie. Bummer of a flight
We had the same issue on JNU - SEA on the 5th July. The FA walked around the cabin asking who had pre-ordered as there was an IT issue and she didn't have a list. We were in row 3. Rather than ask "What have you pre-ordered?" (because I'd like to think most people would actually remember what they'd ordered) the FA asked "Did you pre-order the protein platter, the cheese plate, or the banh-mi?" so - of course - the couple in Row 2 said they'd ordered the cheese plate, there was only one loaded, and so my wife had to do without. She was not happy!

I know there's no easy answer to this, that you have to take people at face value and assume they aren't mistaken, forgetful, or downright lying. However, when there's absolutely no leeway in terms of what's loaded and the fruit & cheese plate can *only* be ordered online in advance it was disappointing.

In terms of the food offerings generally, we did a LAS - LAX - ANC - BRW - ANC - JNU - SEA - LAS trip over the 4th July weekend so experienced pretty much the entire available menu over the course of our flights. Here's some thoughts:
    • LAS - LAX was water, water or water - nothing else was offered. It's a short flight but when AA offers a full beverage in First you'd hope that AS would offer similar. I did feel sorry for those passengers who'd paid $20 at the gate to upgrade to F as part of the GA's pitch was the beverage service!
    • LAX - ANC was a choice of the Entrée Beef Salad or the Mojo Chicken Sandwich. I had the salad which was good but needed a lot more dressing. The wife had the sandwich which was mainly bread with very little filling. Ciabatta was an odd choice for this as it really needs to be served toasted
    • ANC - BRW was the Protein Platter and the Cheese Plate and both were really good. The advertising says "plump cherry tomatoes" but there was only a single tomato!
    • BRW - ANC was the Chicken Banh-Mi and the Cheese Plate. The Banh-Mi is really very good indeed, especially with the siracha and the crunchy vegetables.
    • ANC - JNU was a snack basket only but full beverage service was offered
    • JNU - SEA should have been the protein platter plus the cheese plate but due to an IT issue my wife didn't get her cheese plate (and was very disappointed) so we had two protein platters instead. The only difference between this one and the previous was the turkey - this was shaved, whereas the other was larger pieces of breast meat.
    • SEA - LAS was a double helping of the Banh-Mi which was, again, very good indeed.
Overall service was very good indeed with attentive and friendly FAs. We actually had the same FA on LAX - ANC and JNU - SEA (he was working the F cabin on the LAX - ANC flight but was working coach on the JNU - SEA sector) which was very surprising! We had a good chat - I think he was as much surprised to see us as we were him!

I selected the Roast Pepper Frittata on an upcoming SEA/MCI flight.

"Served cold. Roasted pepper and tillamook cheddar frittata, fresh orange slices, fresh strawberry, and crisp grapes and apple".

Cold egg... dunno. I'm taking this because I think its a lil more heavy on the fruit than the fruit & cheese platter.

You didn't get to sample any of the new hot entrees so next time throw a Hawaii or transcon flight into the mix if you can

Flew SEA-LAX on July 7 and there were cookies shortly after the meal.

PDX lounge also had big soft, unwrapped cookies rather than the smaller packaged ones they've had lately. N lounge in SEA didn't have the pita bites or baby naans that SEA and LAX had in the past week, just saltines as far as crackers/bread things for the cheese cubes.

I agree...cold eggs in this form is odd especially since it would be so easy to heat up something like this....there is a warm frittata making the rounds on the hot entree flights.
