The chicken breast was dry, as expected, but still tasty. The saffron rice and lemon meringue were very good. Still better than what most other airlines are serving these days. No cookies were offered on the flight.

I thought the cod was...fine? To me it seemed mildly flavored and the cod was cooked well and not dry. Overall, it tasted like a lighter/healthier meal. Also, mine definitely looked less black than the one in gold10829's post. Our F/A also wrote different quotes for each of our meals which I thought was interesting.

No plated dessert meant the cookies came out, which ended up being southern toffee with nuts (maybe pecans?), and as expected, delicious.

It was pretty decent tho unremarkable and came with a lemon meringue tart. Service was very good and professional with a pass of the snack basket around an hour out of DCA.

This was my first transcon since COVID, but things mostly seemed normal except the coffee was in paper cups. My wife and I pre-ordered the kale bowl, which we both thought was pretty tasty. My neighbor had the onion frittata, I passed on that as I hate onions but it also looked pretty good. My son pre-ordered the fruit and cheese plate, which came with yogurt. There was one pass of the snack basket about an hour before landing; I selected the pea-toes based on reviews here and was not let down. We landed around an hour early due to favorable winds, all in all a very smooth flight although JFK Terminal 1 is pretty sad these days.

I was hesitant but tried the Bahn-mi. It was OK. The pickled slaw and Sriracha really made the sandwich. The bread was a bit too thick and some small bits were very soggy. Also, the banhmi had this sauce (Sriracha mayo???) that didn't really belong in a banhmi, imo. Overall though, it was fine. I woke up hungover that day so the carby bread was really appreciated. 😂

This was MUCH tastier than it looked - I really enjoyed it! Excellent service from the flight attendant in First, who gave me a warm welcome as a oneworld frequent flyer.

LAX-CUN
Lunch:
Entrée Salad with egg. (Other option was Beef Sandwich)
This was ok - the cauliflower was marinated in curry, which overwhelmed the flavor of the dish.

Both meals were delicious. The breakfast was very filling, as was the dinner. I know it has been mentioned before, but I can't get over the fact that it's a real filet! I would pay $35 in a restaurant and be happy. It's also great to see that even the disposable napkins retain the button hole.

So I'm kind of fascinated by this egg thing now...

Given it's an egg salad, I assume it's cold? If so, does that mean the miniscule amounts of ham and brie are congealed together in a quasi-gelatinous mess?

It sure does sound appealing, but the grapes look ok.

That describes it very well... More goopy than gelatinous. And all the food is cold now.

I can't believe I'm taking myself back to the experience, but here's the deal. It's NOT egg salad...at least not the one I had. It's full slices of hard-boiled egg in the wrap almost as if thrown in as an afterthought. The sauce is inscrutable. The brie (an otherwise lovely cheese in the real universe) is a heavy-handed addition that doesn't quite work with the other ingredients. The ham? Paper thin...maybe one slice. As subtle as if maybe the shadow of a pig was passed over the thing before packaging.

Wow. I really had no idea, as I've been deprived of such delicacies during the latest lockdown.

I just cxld a 4 night MX trip for my bday over the end of May/into June, so all I can say is Oy Dios Mio.

I was starting to feel a massive sense of shame for not utterly detesting that thing after all the posts on here! Granted I've only had it once but I didn't think it was that bad. The FA was in the know and said "I see you pre-ordered the ham and brie wrap but it's really more like an egg salad, would you still like that?" At least there was that. Now feeling emboldened, I'm going to give it another shot Sunday morning. All that said, while the sammie is definitely a step up from what AA is serving, anyone else find the bread to be super dry? I've switched over to the F&C on afternoon flights now.

I agree with all the previous posters who said the ciabatta roll was dry. Glad I had an IPA to wash it all down. I'm really glad I finally gave AS a try after flying UA/AA all the time, definitely think the AS service in F is way better.

Man, and here I thought polenta was polarizing! (haha) We should stick to something non-controversial like politics.

Not proactively since they have removed the digiplayers in F and don't have a way to sell them in Y. You could always ask and see if they happen to have some still.
