I believe the $50 discount is for new members only and valid in-lounge through the end of the month. (if I got this wrong someone please correct me).
As for splitting into more than one payment, I posted up thread on this: on 8/31 the SFO lounge said they cannot do it.

Hi all, update on my situation. Have been emailing with the Lounge customer service and spoke to someone today who was able to process my membership fee over two credit cards via phone. It was a bit finicky but she made it work.
She also told me that SFO is trained/should be able to process the fee (+ $50 discount) in person for new memberships over two credit cards. But after reading anteater 's post I decided I didn't want to chance it. I have 2 Amex cards with airline reimbursements and already have a tough time using them up. So the extra $50, while nice to have, isn't really necessary for me. (The only thing I would use it on is PE upgrades and I get upgraded 90% of the time anyway or book far enough in advance to snag an exit row seat.) Even split over the 2 Amex cards I still have about $65 to burn.
For those asking I will swing by the SFO lounge tomorrow and ask the front desk how long the $50 promo is going for and report back!

Ahh wish I could be more precise. Just emailed customer service and got connected to the Lounge folks who helped me out. Gave them my phone # and times I was available to chat. She did tell me in the future they are working on having an online system where you can do it over two cards in the future so there's no need to call and do it over the phone anymore! Fingers crossed that happens soon.

Front desk at SFO confirmed that $50 promo is running through the end of the month. Although she didn't seem that sure... TBH glad I didn't try to split the membership fee over 2 cards in person. Staff is very welcoming and friendly but I didn't get a ton of confidence in how systems are working yet (to be expected since it's new!)
Unfortunately missed the sourdough cart (closed from 2-5pm) but everything else was nice and shiny and new.

I want to confirm that you can continue to split Alaska Boardroom membership between 2 cards. When I first called, the agent told me it wasn't possible. I called again and had more success by calling 800-654-5669, selecting the Mileage Plan option, and asking the agent to be connected with a "specialist". The specialist was then able to split the Boardroom membership between 2 cards.

Spoke to Amex about Alaska Lounge and inflight catering purchases never crediting automatically (I always have to call them). Said they are aware but no fix planned (customer has to call in to request).
Also, Amex updated their T&C that incidental airline credits now take 6 to 8 weeks to post. The cardmember can call in after that to request. Some agents will credit manually if 6 weeks have past (the agent will code it as "benefit not received"), but it isn't consistent (some agents won't do it until 8 weeks have passed.
So different than Chase Sapphire Reserve credits, which are usually instant.
