LAX/DCA has been showing decent U availability lately (have seen for 8/2 lax-dca, 8/17 dca-lax) and I've seen U1 (and even U2) within about a week of departure on pmVX Airbus routes. These are typically the 321s so seats are typically in good condition. Have been struggling with decision whether to use GGUs given that the presence of U this far out likely means I get the upgrade anyhow as a Gold on this route.. Either way, nice to see U available on transcon routes in advance.

Thanks for the datapoint, be_rettSEA. It appears DCA-LAX goes from an A32S to a 73H (737-800) beginning 8/27. I'm seeing at least U1 on most DCA-LAX flights after that date. I just snagged U space for a flight in early September. The K fare on this route is $244 one-way.

I have a flight from PDX-HNL in 45 days and 2 U were just released. (The upfare is more than I wan't to spend at the moment - and its a pretty elite light load looking in F and PC.)

Ha - I'm flying dca-lax on 8/26, so will catch the last A32S (for the time being at least) on the route. Hoping my upgrades for that trip clear as well! Given how low fares are typically on the route, and how often I've been scoring upgrades as just a Gold, part of me is scared they'll look to cut the route. Given I live in LA and work is based in DC, this would not be great news for me. Congrats on scoring the advance U!

just saw U availability (doubtless only one seat) on AS3 DCA-SEA for Thurs 29 Aug (just looking vicariously, since I scored the last P seat on AS1085 IAD-SEA for ~$75 less yesterday)

I’ve been on that flight in each direction a couple times a year for ~10 years (~90% upgrade success) and it’s generally been pretty full in the back ... yeah, “butts in seats” isn’t always the same thing as “profitable” but I seriously doubt that flight will be going away

I can't find jack for U space on PDX - MCO. I used to be able to find it fairly regularly but I haven't had a single date show up on the 5+ flights I've looked at this year.

The 2 U on my flight have been sitting there for over a week now, seems to be good news for me holding out to get the upgrade without paying...

Have several ANC-SEA/PDX flights with U0 since booking that I've applied GGUC's to the rest (including segments to RDU and MSY- different PNR's)

Wow. Especially disturbing sign for that route. And more generally the F class offering.
