My best guess is that since it'd being configured at MIA, where VX TechOps is based (despite not flying there) -- where every single new plane into their system is configured -- I'd imagine that it'll be VX on the inside. MIA TechOPs and new plane config is done elsewhere.
By painting it in MostWestCoast livery, it can remain that way for years to come or indefinitely.
Initially I came across this on airliners.nut [With quite a large thread already]
Interesting with AS colors on the engine.

I also find that interesting/perplexing, especially with the white vertical stabilizer. I thought it was very weird to see that in the rendering of the Giants livery. I wonder if they can’t actually paint AS logos/names on until they have the SOC?
If that’s the case, it doesn’t seem like a good use of resources to send it back to the paint shop after only a few weeks of being in service. On the other hand, having it sit on the ground all through the holiday week would be an even worse waste of resources, perhaps?
I’m probably totally off base. I know that there were US planes with the AA “America, F* Yeah!” tail before AA/US SOC, they just had to put “Operated by US Airways” by the 1L/R doors.

It appears that its enroute to SFO arriving around 1420 local according to flightaware. I know they can paint it in AS colors and still be "redwood" they can alter the call sign "redwood in alaska colors" to clarify....you dont need to be painted in the airline name to use a different call sign....just like all the regionals...

N848VA is in repaint now at GSO - probably interior modifications already. Its a 320. Been there for over a month...
N926VA will probably have the "more to love" livery similar on the 739 already worn on AS. N924VA is the SF Giants livery....both are still in Europe...
Probably going to get these repaints done very quickly....new SOC is scheduled for early January 12 - 200am PST per FAA as previously mentioned...I think N925VA will get the eskimo then....to get rid of that awful white tail!
