Assuming AA flies the route and hasn't adopted either UA's operational model or DL's FF model, sure. But even then, DL runs a good operation and more choices are better than fewer choices, particularly since DL's choices could have some impact on the choices of AS's other SkyTeam partners.

Sorry I should have clarified i was referring to AS gold. I really hope the new AA does not call the lowest tier gold as it just causes confusion as the other domestic programs Gold is not the 25K level

True, but Q is usually a fairly minor (10-15%) buy-up from O, while getting up to K from LUT can be 50% or more higher.
