Woot woot!

Hitting 75k tonight on a flight from Newark to Seattle. I used a gold upgrade to celebrate.

Safe travels,

John

Wow--I'm surprised that you were able to use a gold upgrade.

All depends on when you fly that route. Last week I was able to Gold guest upgrade both directions!

I should have hit 75K last Monday on a KE flight from SEA-ICN. 'My Account' hasn't updated yet, but I like to count my chickens before they hatch :-P

I have another 15K or so miles of travel this year - wondering if I should credit those to another airline instead.

Well 100% bonus on miles flown is a nice incentive to keep with AS for me.

The other problem is I don't think you can AS mileage plan benefits (upgrades) if you are not using an AS MP number. Not 100% sure on this though.

Out of curiosity, what days and times did you fly?

Outbound was the 3:55pm departure on Monday night. Return was 7am on Thursday. Both are outside of when business folks would be flying. I've been able to upgrade the 7am Thursday return twice... in two years

I don't think so. Since you will be booked into the U class of service once it clears, you wouldn't lose anything by changing your FF number afterwards

Its against the T&C of MP to use benefits like upgrades, and to change the # for earning. Even if the upgrade held (not sure it would) IMO not worth ending your relationship with MP,

Really? It's the first time I've heard of this. I find it interesting that you can't get the benefits your status deserve and credit to someone else. I've always thought it's more because of the technical side of things
