Just another data point.

Changed an SPG award booking to Nights and Flights to get 50k AS miles.

I did this about 1am on 12/3. This morning 12/4 miles already in AS account.

Seems like a great deal. Had redeemed 40k SPG for 5 free nights at and by changing to 70k still got the 5 free nights and 50k airline miles.

I'm looking for the SPG phone to call for the transfer. Anyone has it handy? Thanks!

I expect you've figured out how to do so long ere this, but it's on the spg.com site. Let's see if this link will work. You might have to be logged in first.

Yep. Watch out for the phantom elk seat. You might regret the transfer if you realize, after the transfer, that the available do seat displayed on as site is actually not a bookable seat...

Ah, I remember well how my dad used to scare us with stories about the phantom elk and his antlers of evil.

Just adding a DP here as well. Transferred Starpoints to Mileage Plan for the first time, and they hit the same day! On a Sunday, no less. That seems a much more efficient process compared to mileage from the only AS flight I've ever taken (last month), which took about five days to post to their own program.
