I expect this will be a moving target, but as of 4pm today, Thursday, Nov. 6, the "FAA flight reductions waiver" states these conditions for the flexible travel policy:
Travel To/From: All locations
Tickets Purchased On / Before: November 06, 2025
Original Travel Dates: November 7, 2025 - November 10, 2025
New Travel Dates: November 6, 2025 - November 17, 2025
Bold emphasis is mine. So anyone with travel, say, a week out will have to wait if they want to make any fee-free changes. The policy also states, "No difference in fare will apply for new travel in the same cabin to and from the same city pair."

we have SMF-SEA on Mon afternoon
SMF isn’t on the list of affected airports, so I’m thinking that (for purposes of statistical compliance) a SEA<>SMF turn is a less likely candidate for cancellation than, say, SEA<>SFO

Gratefully just boarded first flight of the day PHX-PDX.
Hoping our flight home on Sunday isnt cancelled!
EDIT: we had a 40-min delay sitting on the tarmac after leaving the gate.

United proactively published a list of all flight cancellations for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday arising from the FAA directive.
https://www.united.com/en/us/fly/com...eductions.html
This is great transparency and allows passengers to plan three days ahead with certainty.
Alaska should do the same ASAP.

Got a WN flight on Sunday hit by this mess and WN rebooked us to Oakland at our request (since LAX-SFO delay would have added 7 hours) and they offered to pick up the cost of a rental car since its a different airport even though its not their fault at all. AS really needs to step up their customer service compared to UA/DL/AA and even WN they are really dropping the ball.

Its also good politics - tell your customers specifically what is at stake and they might share that specific concern with their representatives. Keep it murky, and its hard to advocate.

Just a gentle note of caution:
While the planned 10% reductions help alleviate stress, they only help to a certain point.
A concentrated spike in unexpectrd ATC (or TSA) sick calls can still shut down an airport, a terminal, or impact a particular airline severely despite pre-planned cancellations.
Just be prepared for alternatives (of which sometimes sadly there simply are none).

JetBlue has a travel waiver for affected airports only (their policy has a list of impacted cities), as opposed to a systemwide waiver like AS and UA are doing. So for us, it could always be worse

I'm on sea-eug Sat and Tues.
On the fence about driving instead, and agree AS is not winning any fans with lack of clear communication.
(I do have Amtrak back up booked for would-be return).
I have SEA-RDU late next week (with ggu applied!) and proactively.cancelling that trip since it's flexible and AS provides me no assurances they will operate it.
It's easy to blame the dumpster fire in DC for this, but if other airlines adapt and proactively communicate, that's the bar AS needs to meet.

A family member of mine who seldom flies anymore is on AS 199, with a scheduled departure of 9am. It finally took off at 11:13am! Thankfully he booked F. He wont be looking forward to flying again anytime soon.
