Long time pet peeve

Why is it that the longer the flight the less we see of the F FA's? They seem to have plenty of time to do their crossword, Soduko, read a magazine, chat with other FA's and less time to see after the F PAX.

I never need to push the overhead button on shorter flights (incl ANC-SEA) but longer flights become rather sloppy and less attentive...

The pancakes are tiny.

Please note, this is an observation, and should be in no way interpreted as a complaint!

It does, however, explain how some posters were able to eat 8-10 pancakes in one visit...

There are ways to adjust the size of them...

You guys do know that these are in all Red Lion Hotels now, too?

Stay at a Red Lion on your park-n-fly, get your 500 AS miles, plus more pancakes ^

Pancakes still operational at 10:40 AM in ANC...

Apparently the button is super-sensitive, as when I pushed it twice (or so I thought) six pancakes emerged (and they were the bigger size today )

Also had a run-in with the sensitive pancake button this morning in PDX. Got 6 pancakes instead of 2, but ate them all!

Arrived at 11:00 and wasn't expecting the pancake machine to be operational (normal hours are 6:30AM - 10:30AM), but there was a little addendum:

(Till 11:30AM on Saturday/Sunday)
Woohoo! Pancakes in the morning @ PDX, soup and salad for lunch (LAX).

What a cool machine! While pancakes are a breakfast food I would love to see it around all day because let's be honest, who doesn't like pancakes at any time of the day? I can't imagine it is costly to purchase the dough/batter for the pancakes, so why not treat your best customers with pancakes all day!

I really didn't need to eat that second batch of 4 pancakes, but they were oh-so-yummy!

When I showed up at 5:10, the concierge was just putting a fresh bag in. By the time maybe 12-14 pancakes had been made, the meter was showing about 2/3. Either the meter isn't accurate, or a bag only does about 40-50 pancakes, which isn't a tremendous number if the average person eats 3...

An image for your entertainment:

Note: I was not the one who pushed the button 7 times. That would be you-know-who...

(We justified it by saying they were small pancakes... )

They can be very inconsistent in size. Some not much larger than a hockey puck, while the next one might be larger than the saucer they go on.

Seven though?????

Well, seven button pushes split between the two of us, so a short stack of 7 'cakes each. They were about hockey puck-sized, so it was about the perfectly-sized breakfast for me. (My traveling companion went back for more... )

Of course, I also had a mug of oatmeal, too, which was kinda overkill...

One of the BR attendants suggested that the metal panel on the side should be replaced with plexiglass, so you can see how it works. ^

(I have pictures I should dredge up...)
