No big deal. Just call them up and the telephone agent will take care of it reight away. Shouldn't cost you anything either.

Not even worth bothering to call in about. A letter here or there (generally up to three) is not a big deal. Calling in will result in frustration and discussions of change fees and the like. Just show up at the airport and you'll be fine.

Also, in the future try to put something in the thread title that describes the problem, rather than just a desperate plea. It will help the rest of the board out immensely. @:-)

sbm12, I have to respectfully disagree with you. While I DO agree that the phone call to Airtran might prove to be frustrating depending on the skill level of the agent, it will surely beat heck out of the frustration that the passenger will feel if the day he shows up to fly, that's the day he gets a "by the book" TSA agent whose marching orders are to "match the name EXACTLY or deny passage, period." NEVER risk a problem on the day of flight if you have the opp'y to pre-empt the problem ahead of time.

I called Airtran. Because it is an E ticket they can't change it but did make note that it was a typo. Said TSA wouldn't have a problem with it. I typed Hienz when it SHOULD be Heinz.

A friend flying SWA encountered the same problem. Instead of typing Eleanor, she entered Elenor.

A quick call to SWA and the record was updated with the correct info.

This happened to me a few months back on an FL ticket for a job interview. The company's TA added an S to my last name and TSA at both BWI and DAY did not catch it. I did arrive at BWI with a little extra time just in case.

And I will respectfully disagree with you. You don't even need an ID to go through security. With no ID you will be SSSS'd which is actually faster through security at many airports and at most slightly slower. You absolutely will not be denied passage. The worse that will happen is that you will be SSSS'd - no big deal.
