I have to be getting close to the 6 week mark, I will post when the business class ugrades go into my account. As mentioned here, the points will transfer. So far I have transferred all my Southwest points to Airtran A+ rewards.

My husband has the Airtran CC since 2008 from Barclays..would he be able to get this card from CHASE?

I am maxed out at getting cards ( I think). I can try but I bet I'll be denied. ( too many inquiries as of late)

Yes, two different banks. Should be no problem.

I spent some time on the phone with Chase yesterday and here is what the Chase CSR told me:

-The best way to receive the 40 credit Chase sign-on bonus is to cancel my existing Barclay's FL card and apply for the Chase card after the Barclay's cancellation hits my credit report (30-60 days).

-I can get separate cards for ms henryf and myself

-The $69 sign-on is non negotaible.

-Chase bonus credits expire one year after date of issue. Barclay's credits have a 2 year expiration.

-Chase requires you to earn 1200 A+ reward credits in order to receive one FL flight credit (ie $1200 spend per FL flight credit). Barclay's only required a $1000 spend per FL flight credit. If you keep the Chase card this represents a de facto devaluation.

-Most Chase promotions continue for at least 90 days

I have already cancelled my Barclay's card and anticipate applying for the Chase card with a 40 credit bonus within the next two months. Maybe ms henryf will do this also.

Where are you seeing a 40 credit offer? The best I can find is 32 credits.

It is 32 credits plus 2 upgrades

In my world, the upgrades are worth 4 credits apiece. I guess that the upgrade can be used on an advanced purchase which would value them at 8 credits apiece. According to the T&C chase supplies upgrade certificates, not the points to your account. Sorry for the confusion.

It is still a good deal.

Ah, now I see where you are coming from. I was thinking maybe you had found an offer of 40 credits plus the upgrades. Yes, still a fine deal anyway. Unfortunately WN has totally gutted FL's schedule on my weekly BOS-BWI run to the extent that after 10 years of flying them regularly, once the new schedule commences at the beginning of the year, I'll probably not be able to use them at all. (And, remarkably stupidly, the killed FL 8:30 am BOS-BWI flight, which is always full, is not even being replaced by a WN flight. 7:30 am is a little early for me, and 9:45 is rather late. There's nothing in between.)

Cant find the answer to this in the thread, can you use the business class upgrades on an award flight?

Also when it says one way flight for 8 credits, does that include a connection or not? For instance JAX-ATL-XXX and back.

I upgrade my reward flights to BC all of the time. I usually save the upgrades for the 4+ hour west coast runs.

The 8 credits is for the entire flight (including transfers)..not per segment. It will take you from Jax to wherever you want to go.

Too, if you upgrade a flight requiring a connection, all segments are upgraded.

My points finally posted today! Instead of 32 credits and 2 business class upgrades my account was given 64 credits + 3 for the spend so 67 credits total! If I am reading this right, I can either use them to get 2 round trip business class tickets or 4 round trip coach tickets.

Was the 64 a mistake?

I don't think it was a mistake as I never got the upgrade certs; I think that's just how they are choosing to do this award. (2 business class round trips = 64 credits.) But now I can stretch this out into 4 coach tickets or 2 coach and 1 FC.

If you want a mistake, I've got one. My credits posted today. Got 32 credits and NO, repeat NO business class upgrades. I will give it a few more days before I start calling and complaining. One would think if they post the credits they should have at least issued the upgrade certs.

My concern is that they really may not understand the promo offer. And that will make it harder to actually get the biz certs (or extra rewards, or whatever).

Good luck to the next lucky winner. Please post back as to what was deposited in your A+ account.
