Love the Qatar work around! I also like the e-ticket receipt on Qatar better than on BA or the non existent one on Air Berlin.

I'm either doing something wrong or this isn't working. I've reserved seats twice via qatarairways.com, and the seat assignments show up with I view my itinerary on aa.com. But about a day later the seats are gone. Any ideas?

Unfortunately they disappear from checkmytrip.com too. I can book them through Qatar, but after 24 hours they are gone.

Were these booked thru AA? If so, give them a call.

If the reservation was booked thru AA to begin with, give them a call.

I've talked to them twice, and both times have been told to call Airberlin. I don't currently have status with AA, so suspect that's why.

I have a couple of reservations with AB involved. Gave them a call and chose XL seats as an AA Platinum member. They called me back and told me that I can't have those seats for free. Are they right?

No free XL (especially long-haul) for non-AB OW elites of any level.
