Change in pattern of fare sales?
Hi all
In past years I recall Air NZ having big sales for Black Friday and early in the New Year. I didn’t see anything for Black Friday and there is no New Years sale (yet) - just a few offerings on Grab a Seat. I wonder if this indicates a change in marketing strategy and direction 🤷♂️.

For at least the last 5 years I cannot recall AirNZ doing Black Friday or NY sales.
Sales (on AirNZ website, not GAS) are generally every 2-3 months and grouped by region; usually North America/Asia/Europe, Pacific Islands and/or Aussie, Domestic.
North America/Asia/Europe usually last for 2 weeks.
Pacific Islands and/or Aussie usually last either 2 weeks or 2 to 3 days.
Domestic usually last for 2 to 3 days.
As for when the sales will be, who knows. Specific sale periods are not published in advance.

The NY sale always starts a week or two into the year.
It's rather pointless starting a sale when half the country is away on holiday incl plenty of staff and CSRs.

New Year Sale happens every year and it's usually after the employees return from annual leave.
2025 NY sale was Tue 7 Jan til 17 Jan. There is usually another sale after this for select destinations.
I usually find that the fare prices are exactly the same across the sales. Only blackout dates seem to change.

I didn’t see the recent double SP offer sadly. Ironically I did end up with some work flights being booked during that period for me, which was nice, but missed out on the long haul self-booked J trip coming under that.. by a day!
