That would be quite a dramatic change in attitude. Wizz see staff training as a business leverage point. Foran, like most execs that have been tainted by the US business culture, see it as a cost. NZ IRROPS capability might actually improve for the first time in 25+ years!

Stephen Jones is a name that has been thrown around.. He hasn't popped up anywhere after leaving Wizz Air. He's already got the knowledge of Air NZ operations and was certainly somebody who was pretty well respected within the airline and the industry. He is somebody I'd be happy to see pop up in the CEO role.

No new Japanese carrier will be starting any NZL route until either the air traffic rights bilateral is negotiated to allow more than one carrier, or NH drops its codeshare off the NZ flights.

It'll be interesting to see how op upgrades pan out as that's a very premium heavy plane.
